Yeh, 200,000 people got turned into burnt toast in the process, but it showed the world the power of nuclear bombs and prevented their use on cities ever since. It ended WWII. It also prevented the USA and the Soviet Union from going nuclear in 1963 during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Its sad and totally horrific that 200,000 had to be sacrificed so that hundreds of millions would not have the same fate.

First of all, we aren't talking about Hiroshima. And about hiding behind civilians, yeah they do. What do you think guerilla warfare is? Do you think the fighting would even be an issue if the insurgents didn't hide behind civilians and wore uniforms. No it wouldn't. Saddam's troops wore uniforms and didn't hide and look how quickly and easily we took them out.

Well it only takes common sense. For instance, hundreds of private contractors from all over the world being paid by the US to be in Iraq. What are they doing there? Sight-seeing?
