i will try it next time i got a little cash to buy some 404.. might be interesting..

not trying to defend anything, i had just heard of people using spelling as a marketing technique before and posted that maybe thats why.. only 2 people who know for sure would be piksal and brand0n, and brand0n hasnt verified if thats the reason.

but hell.. if it works it would be pretty cool

Why don't you just admit that you are ESL, and that you made fucking mistakes, instead of trying to make us think you did it on purpose as a marketing technique.

Sheesh, if you are going to design, learn to spell the words that you may be required to use. There is no way in fucking hell I would give you for all the grammar and spelling errors in that banner.

We are not as dumb as you, and are not going to fall for that bullshit.
I was just telling someone at dinner tonight.... if you picked up a magazine or a newspaper and saw all sorts of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors on the front page, in the headlines etc, would you buy it? Everyone at the table said "no".... I then asked "so why would anyone want to click further into a website that had those same errors?

My dinner guests all agreed with that, but I see there are a few here that don't seem to get it in that special way. :D

Even his domain is a typo error guys.

I find i hard to belive ya people can not choke don the fact that typo's in advertising are a kool gimmick once in a while and this just might be one of "His" things.

The banner aint bad and he has a good portfolio.
I do not know his deal here with his or Hustler Naughty Jen but its a good ad

For Christ sakes it made a thread this big!

Givem some credit where its due.

Back in the day when I was heavily involved in the CWA, I was recruited to be on a slate to remove the existing leaders of our local. I agreed on the one condition that any and all publications had to be read and approved by me first.

I was not going to try and run a political campaign with a bunch of typos being sent out to the membership.

Don't mistake talking for arguing. We're all just having a simple discussion, right? Since when does everyone have to agree in a discussion.

For the record, the banner looks great. Personally I wouldn't want any grammatical errors in anything that I might have ordered, and wouldn't pay for them unless fixed..... but that's just me, and I do all my own design and graphics work myself anyway.

Again, not arguing. As far as I'm concerned we're all just talking here, like men...... except for a few posts that Opie made.

Ahh, the origins of your point of view becomes clearer now. For you see, I used to hahahahaha a column years ago for the Manitoba chapter of UFCW, United Food and Commercial Workers, our shop was local 832, 1500+ hospital workers and health care workers. My column appeared in their bi-monthly newsletter for several years.... and I went to extra lengths to ensure there were no typos in my submissions.

No sense looking like more of an idiot than one has to. :D (as it were)

I would be willing to bet it was more the fact that either http://pixeldesign.com/ was not available, or he did not want to pay what they were asking for it.

Correction: I used to "write" a column.... not hahahahaha a column.

write = publish

Okay . . .all your typos, whether they be on tours, banners or posts are all intentional. You are an innovator, and will go far with this new marketing technique.

Everytime you make a post with more than twenty words in it you make it obvious you can't spell for shit.

Stick to the two word responses, it will serve you better.

I was drawing a parallel. I hope I wasn't being "too abstract" for you in that post.

Banners appear on websites. Banners represent websites. Banners can and often do set the theme of what a website or company represents. Banners are often the first thing a surfer sees about your company.

It is my opinion that banners should be professional in all aspects, not just the "look" of them. Again, yours looks great, kudos on the nice work, you are talented. I'm just voicing my opinion on one part of it, nothing more.

Banners are often the first thing a surfer sees about your company.

I may be wrong, but I thought that banner was targeting webmasters, not surfers.

Now, perhaps a surfer would click a banner because he was so intrigued by the spelling and grammar errors, but do you really think a webmaster is going to see it and click on it because he was drawn to the typos?

I mean really, a banner is a lot like a business card in some respects. Is it your position that intentional typos on business cards is a good marketing technique as well? I'm sorry, but I just don't see it. All of my 20 years experience of being in various businesses tells me that having a typo on a business card is pure suicide, not to mention a waste of time and money.

I don't know...... all I can say is suit yourself. My other rule in life is if it works for you, go with it.

Surfer, webmaster, whatever. Calling oneself a "webmaster" is no indication of having a few extra IQ points, there are example of that on this very thread :D

In this case, the banner in question is for a different company, but is also indicative of this guy's work. It in effect represents HIM.

If I were the client, I would want the typos fixed before I paid for it. That's all I'm basically saying.

Seeing as it's a holiday........

Judging by the posts of others over the past few months, I'm inclined to say that Brand0n can sometimes be known for not answering ICQ's or emails. He's kind of on his own schedule sometimes.... but if I were you I would at least wait until tomorrow when it's an actual business day. Hell, it is "Easter Monday" tomorrow..... I'd wait until Tueday to hear from him.

Be patient.

Just because I made him aware of your looking for him does not mean that my opinion is any different.

I would use the opportunity to fix the typos. I would be really surprised if he will find the typos to be an enhancement.

Lots of American (and Canadian) companies give their employees the Monday off following Easter, in leiu of the holiday falling on the weekend. Many private companies do this as well. The Friday before Easter (good friday) is also a day off for a lot of people.

I'm just saying.... because of the holiday I'd give someone a lot more time to respond than just a few days. If I hadn't heard from him by Wednesday I'd be phoning their office directly though.
