Did you know that you can use the moon to determine a rough east - west direction?

If the moon rises before the sun sets, the illuminated side will be west. If the moon rises after midnight, the illuminated side will be east.

It shouldn't say under god and it shouldn't say of the united states of america.

I guess the origional words "my flag" made it seem as if the country was a collection of the people, rather than the people being residents of the country.

The Pledge was posted anonymously in the magazine, so there's always been dispute about weather Bellamy or James Upham was the real author. I think they both claimed it, but Bellamy won by a vote.
