About the pictures, thanks, they are from pinuptoons.com. I'm not paid to advertise for them, but I'd highly recommend checking them out.

He's been a trainer for 15 years actually, and doesn't seem to be a complete idiot. When I first got my diet and noticed that they'd like me to consume carbs as 55% of my daily intake, I did make a comment to him saying I thought that was excessive. For example, on the sample menu, one of the days it has me eating 4 baked potatoes along with a serving of meat, some cubed cheese pieces, and some fruit. That meal was easily my heaviest of the day at just over 1k calories, but there was 152g of carbs.

Like I said in my last post, I did lose 3% body fat in the first 6 weeks. I'm still going to see if there's some way we can get the carb intake changed to something more reasonable.

Bah all you guys are really wrong.

Counting calories is for chumps.

Atkins diet. I dropped 50 lbs in 5 months with minimal exercise (yes I did do some) and never being hungry.

The fatter you are, the faster you'll lose it.

As to the previous post..

Who cares about pasta and bread when you can eat a fucking T-Bone or endless amounts of shrimp and lobster?

You gotta be kinda rich to pay for the food on atkins but so what, its a life upgrade.

About the atkins diet .. many people have alot of short term success but you cant live the rest of your life only on high fat proteins .. you will dammage your heart .. Very few people are able to maintain their weight loss when switching to a normal diet .. thats why the healthiest way to loose weight is to modify your lifestyle, eat smart and exercise, it make take longer .. but it will last.

I love the ball less wonders who are so brave on these boards. Make very rude statements here because they feel so worthless in the real world . Here they feel like they have some kind of control .

I was thin all my life then at 25 I had a foot injury and stopped working out. that wa it up up up.I lost 45 lbs on Atkins until I had a kindney stone and my cholestrol was sky high. gained 25 back
I decided slow and steady last year I lost 20 lbs. This year I am up to 10 lbs right on track, It may take me forever but i want it to be a lifestyle change and not A diet. It is a daily stuggle but i should be thin before I die

your trainer has the right idea. Building lean muscle mass will help your body to burn fat. Simply because musle mass is more biologicaly active, even when at rest. Fat is not. The more muscle mass, the more calories you burn even when resting, which in turn reduces the fat. Dont let the scale determine your success. Muscle is alot heavier than fat, so use the body fat percentage and the mirror to tell you if its working or not.
