Why bother using an alternative? Dreamweaver is the best.
If you dont have money, download them free on Kazaa or some shit.

I am running Dreamweaver MX 2004 on my OLD laptop with 366 Pentium II and 288Mb Ram. You sure you dont meet the requirements for it? Or are you talking about other requirements? ($$$)

Homesite is built into Dreamweaver MX.
You can most likely get a free version of that.
Also go to download.com and get some free html editors.

Use Dreamweaver 4. It's good on lower-end systems if you don't mind going in and cleaning up all the excess code it leaves for no reason.

Try <a href="http://www.evrsoft.com/download.shtml">FirstPage 2000.</a> It's freeware
For Windows 95 or Windows 98:
32 MB of RAM for the operating system, plus an additional 8 MB of RAM for 1st Page 2000.

I started off using FP98 and used Cute ftp instead of it's own ftp programme and never had a problem. The problem with hosts is if you use the FP programme to upload... There are plenty of free ftp programmes including one from CoffeCup

I remember it being a big thing to find a host that had FTP extensions so you could upload to it
