Dreamweaver/Frontpage alternatives?

Anyone that work with something else
than the regular?

I've searching all day for good alternatives... nothing
comes
close so far.

btw, do you know where I can
find Dreamweaver 4 trial?

Im in Big Trouble.
:(

Tight 03-28-2004 05:45 PM

why would you not want to use dreamweaver? it's great!

insanesurfer 03-28-2004 05:46 PM

I used hotmetal pro before not sure if they still make it.

modelgigtalent 03-28-2004 05:47 PM

Why bother using an alternative? Dreamweaver is the best.
If you dont have money, download them free on Kazaa or some shit.

alecb 03-28-2004 05:47 PM

adobe golive, used to be my favorite but its gone downhill recently

Hammer 03-28-2004 05:47 PM

Adobe GoLive is an excellent program.

I am running Dreamweaver MX 2004 on my OLD laptop with 366 Pentium II and 288Mb Ram. You sure you dont meet the requirements for it? Or are you talking about other requirements? ($$$)

Jdoughs 03-28-2004 05:50 PM

i ran DW on my 166 with 64 ram..

you cant be using less then that can you

Newton - XXXAmigoz 03-28-2004 05:51 PM

http://www.coffeecup.com/software/ does trials still for html etc, or if not try on google for a program called homesite, think macromedia.com make it as a trial?

modelgigtalent 03-28-2004 05:54 PM

Homesite is built into Dreamweaver MX.
You can most likely get a free version of that.
Also go to download.com and get some free html editors.

don't think so indeed :winkwink:

dojaornada 03-28-2004 05:57 PM

Use Dreamweaver 4. It's good on lower-end systems if you don't mind going in and cleaning up all the excess code it leaves for no reason.

Try <a href="http://www.evrsoft.com/download.shtml">FirstPage 2000.</a> It's freeware
For Windows 95 or Windows 98:
32 MB of RAM for the operating system, plus an additional 8 MB of RAM for 1st Page 2000.

I started off using FP98 and used Cute ftp instead of it's own ftp programme and never had a problem. The problem with hosts is if you use the FP programme to upload... There are plenty of free ftp programmes including one from CoffeCup :)

I remember it being a big thing to find a host that had FTP extensions so you could upload to it:)

Found another FREE Html Editor
<a href="http://www.chami.com/html-kit/">HTML KIT</a> This one seems very flexible, lots of add-ons and tutorials available.

pornoshare 03-28-2004 06:29 PM
