Some big trading TGPs these days make me wonder.....
ever done the math on some of the big trading TGPs out there.
I'm not going to name names here, but lets think about it. There's SEVRERAL large trading TGPs out there today that will send any good site 3 or 4 hits for every one they get in - some even send more. Ok, that's fine on a good trade, but some of these guys are doing that on MOST EVERY TRADE they have. ok, send out 3X what I get in. if the site is mostly trades I'm left asking - how exactly does this site do this MAGICAL TRADE? If I pay $3 for every $1 I take in, my business won't last very long unless I'm printing counterfit money in the back room to padd the evenlopes going out. cough cough hitbit cough cough

Sure does make you wonder. But I guess bookmarkers could be an important factor in how they are doing it, assuming it is all above board.

well.. maybe they're going for the bookmarks... and if most of their traffic is not from trades.. they can send more hits than they receive... They might also send you some cheap chinese traffic they get from Traffic Brokers..

Big trading tgps that get a lot of bookmarks like call-kelly are always oversending a LOT . Their bookmarkers just close the other windows most of the time . But the traffic comming in give them more bookmarks because the skimming is low

I can't remember whether I came up with the term, or my friend did... it refers to trades that oversend you heaps of traffic with really bad prod, in huge bursts
BLAST OF CRAP (BOC) Some traffic brokers can also send you this type of traffic if you ask around. ![]() |

if your prductivity is over 300% overall (and usually much higher for bookmarkers) its very easty to do a 3:1 trade.... However Instead of Increasing the outbound traffic I usually just decrease the skim. a good mass of bookmarkers keep a site going. It also keeps the traffic more productive on the site your trading with....
Drawing the hitbot conclusion from an outgoing trade ratio is actually pretty stupid. Still... theres TONS of hitbotters out there and they can seriously infect your trading traffic. When a good trade starts up you will usially see a boost in the conversion rate of your advertising becasue there are new surfers hitting your ads.

Granted a large portion of TGP traffic is hitbot proxy generated, but your example of paying $3 for every $1 isn't accurate. You can't compare something which is stable i.e. exchange of currency, to something that's going to fluxuant like the productivity of a surfer. You're not trading inanimate objects - you're trading potential customers who are *supposidly* actively clicking looking for a product.
I don't mean to lecter you on TGPs since you're already successful with them - but don't you think there is some natural explanation for the grooming of a surfer when he's on different sites? What about the harvester sites which boast incredible productivity because they list 145 categories with thousands of galleries updated fresh in a simple barely advertised column. I think it's entirely possible for these type of sites to send 3x-4x more out traffic then in. |

I agree. My question for the traffic brokers and large tgp is why are they giving away traffic for us to send to sponsors. If it is real and at all valuable, why dont they send it to their sponsors??
Like and insurance agent buying leads from another insurance agent. |

Well a lot of them actually feed their site with loads of useless exit traffic day in and day out. 10k exit is $10 today so it's REALLY not hard to fill up a site already running. |

I'm confused on your statement...Any site that sends me proxy or hitbot shit gets picked up automatically by my script and won't get any hits back from me. I'm not sure how you are basing your conclusions on.

Perhaps it is because they are using screensaver traffic and agents or maybe they buying more traffic than they get from trades...

I don't own any "big" TGPs, but my little 20k ones I regularly
feed with purchased traffic to keep things humming along. I've got a broker I trust and his traffic consistantly gives a 20% CTR. Between purchased and bookmarkers I can give a 2:1 on productivity. ...and no it's not just throwing them away on a trade, I got first crack at the sale. If I couldn't convert him, I'll "trade" him for another chance. |

A good amount is probably hitbot, but alot is probably just chinese or other garbage traffic.
Alot of it is probably bookmarkers too. I personally don't like TGP, but I set up a no skim TGP once and fed it some traffic. Ended up with about 300 bookmarkers but those bookmarkers had 700% productivity or so. I still figured it was too late to get into TGP but bookmarkers can do alot when you skim off 1 out of 5 galleries. Furthermore I think it's in the interest of the TGP owner to have alot of in's coming from trades. When I buy a spot that's going to be on the TGP for a week, and probably 2 more weeks from the hall of fame, I want fresh traffic hitting the gallery, not the same freeloaders every day.

Also they send alot of hits out but the productivity on those sites usually suck. Imagine a crappy small TGP trading with some site like madthumbs. Noone's gonna keep surfing Joe Blow's Ass Crap FHG Pool with 50% skim when they have madthumbs. They're gonna click 15 more thumbs on there and 3 of those clicks are going to end up as dead hits on other TGP's.

BTW everybody :
Sleazy's trade traffic is tha shit ! he wrote me a good description when I had a trade with him . He wasn't sending me much . Like 2k per day . But this traffic was 3 times more productive then average . Him and sublime got the best traffic (zilla used too when I was his #1 trade a while back but it started sucking) . |

Just last week I found a new trade in my stats that was sending in thousands of hits. Not only were the incoming uniques, but they were clicking like mad into my galleries and traffic trades. When I checked out this guys site, it was a popup hell and tried to install the XXXtoolbar several times. I can only image the relief a surfer feels when clicking into a clean tgp after being at a site like that. Needless to say, I'm not gonna send my visitors to such a trash site so I disabled the trade. Sites like this sign up for trades every couple of weeks and send traffic long after disabling the trade. With the extra traffic coming in, I am returning 545% to my trades on average right now. I'm sure it will eventually taper off, but I always average at least a 250% return to my trades.

would not surprise me. selling hitbots is a business itself, there are obviously many that use them because they either did not get in early enough, are not smart enough or don't have the money to get what they want without faking it.
