SWAPBUCKS Please Respond

I have emailed all these questions and more and not recieved
any response from your support team.

I have searched previous threads and my questions have not
been answered. Please answer these questions as I won't
appreciate being pushed aside, called an idiot and told to review
past posts like your other affiliates have been.

btw If you answered these clearly on your site and stats then
you wouldn't have to answer them here.

How much money is in the "pool" currently?

What is the monthly average pool at this stage?

In other words.... How much am I going to be paid?

Do sites wishing to distribute content pay a fee into this pool?

I see no mention on your site of sites having to pay to distribute
content. From what can be seen on my end it appears noone
pays, which means to me that there is no money in the pool and I
won't be paid much at all. Please explain this in detail and do not
referer me to any other sites or searches for the answers.

I have renamed some files into 2000-3000 different keyword
loaded files. These files are all still wmv but with new keyword
loaded descriptions. This is to increase distribution of your
partners content.

Is this against your terms and will I be suspended for increasing
distribution of files?

Again..... How much will I be paid?

-Ben

As near as I can tell, Swapbucks is as secretive as their primogenitor and will neither answer you directly, nor post anything specific on this board.

They'll answer my questions or loose mine and others traffic.

If they'd rather loose traffic then answer questions then I'd
guess it's safe to assume......

The way I see it atm is they have spent too much time on code
and business model to poison their market by scamming. The
system includes some gaps that raise questions. I'd guess that
they'd be working on closing these gaps so that the questions
are automatically answered. However they really need to do
some PR and support work to answer those questions now.

This said however. The lack of support, delelopment changes, site
changes, emails answered suggests..........

I can not see where the money is. If content providers don't pay,
and surfers don't pay. Then where does the money come from to
pay affiliates?

I think the main problem is they never beta tested it and probably realized a few weeks ago that their total revenue was only 35 bucks.

oppisite.

Webmasters need hard cold numbers.

The seem small, under-developed and in-over-their-heads.

However being a coder I don't believe for a minute that it was
setup as a scam from the start. There are much easier ways to
scam people then spend so much time and effort on development.

I just want answers, support, information.

Here just in-case this is still hard to understand what this is about.

For SwapBucks
Hint:
These questions are where you will live or die. Given
the amount of trouble you seem to have keeping up with your
support I can see that without showing webmasters how much
they are making then you will very shortly be closed.

Please avoid this crash, adjust your system, answer the
questions, include the numbers and I'm sure you'll be a huge
sponsor by next year.

I published a quick DB update the other day.

Also planning on removing a bit of junk and adding a few handy
features.... Just getting a few things out of the way but should
have a slightly improved version up in the next month or so.

They can ignore it to their own detriment.

If they want webmasters to promote them then they'll come out
and answer questions. If they want to be assumed to be
worthless, ignored and avoided by webmasters then they should
stay silent.

Just to clarify so that you SwapBucks people don't get frightened.

We the affiliates who make you money need information.

We need to know the total size of the pool or our part in it.

A percentage is not enough information. 100% of 0 is 0.

This information doesn't have to be posted publically.

This information must be disclosed to affiliates.

I wrote to SwapBucks once and they responded. The thing looks like this:

1. On the one end must be paysite owners with some kind of partnership program, who provide short sampe videoclips for distribution.

1. On the other end are some people who wish to turn their home computers into peer-to-peer nodes and make money redistributing those videoclips.

And indeed SwapBucks I suppose takes some %% of it as a middle party.

As for the technical details - I'm not sure how they organize all this, they did not tell me, not that I asked much, honestly. But this is not much relevant, actually.

I did some research and found out that actually it's possible to spam p2p networks without any affiliates, just some servers and proper software required... So I do not see any good for me as paysite owner, and I do not see why there are such difficulties with affiliates required. Instead of writting the software that provides all the functionality they have (or claim to have) now, they could just develop less complicated software that would be using cheap dedicated servers for redistribution...

Site is a DNS error now.

The server with all their domains is down.

If you were in Vegas in January and actually spent 5minutes of your time you would have known then that they are complete idiots.

Looks like they packed up with a "we'll contact you shortly".

So fuck-you-very-much AC.

Now I have to do their announcements for them......

Quote:
email from SwapBucks
Dear Peermasters,

We have been listening to your input. We are currently in
development to bring you the type of program you are expecting.
We have contracted our content portion of the program to an
outside content management company. Per your requests, in
order to implement a pay-per-sale model, we have developed a
business relationship with a content aggregation company, who
has agreed to give us auditing rights to their system. By utilizing
this method, we will be able to provide you with accurate,
trustworthy statistics. The current system does not allow this,
and we too are not comfortable with the current methods of
tracking even our sales with our current content affiliates.

Swapbucks is and will continue to be a traffic aggregation
company. Please stay tuned while we firm up these new business
relationships and continue to develop the program to completion.

We realize that some of you were inconvenienced and thank you
for being a part of our trial period. We are sorry to admit that this
model did not work the way it was initially developed. We are
happy to announce that we have figured it out and we will be
back STRONG very soon.

Please understand we are exploring a new Industry, and we
appreciate your patience while we better our business model to
our mutual benefits.
I was never told it was a so called "trial period". Exploring a "new
industry" does that mean they aren't adult webmasters?

phone call with SwapBucks
$400 in the pool.
"You should have stopped sending traffic when you didn't get a
response"

So I guess I shouldn't have given them the benefit of the doubt.
What they really wanted people to do is keep sending traffic until
the site was removed so then nothing will be counted and
webmasters can further assume that the site will be back after
an intermitiant outage. Lucky I wasn't quite that stupid.

They also said that AdultCheck offered them a room but they
refused. Still sounds like it's AC just using other peoples
bandwidth to test new shit to me.

A week or so ago MrBig and a few others stopped sending traffic.
I'm guessing these are Swapbucks employees and test accounts.
Then 3 or so days ago they take down the domain. Then finally
today the send an email.

Not good enough.

Taking the site down makes them the only people with access to
the stats and contact information. It also leaves those that just
happen to miss this email with a very bad taste.

If you whois the phone number given isn't correct but does give
you another number to try.

Swapbucks: +1 8189722168

They'll give you "I can't hear you" but get them to change
channels on the phone or get a proper handset.

They tried to say that they had no way to track it. Said that
because sponsors can shave they don't know what the real pool
is. pfft.

I told em to send a cheque for $12.

Fucked if they just get to keep what little was made.

Don't seem to understand that P2P is a bandwidth cost to start
but then you get it back over time as others share your files. Now
there is no chance of getting it back without their site up.
