Are Newbies Hurting This Industry?

What do you think... Do more and more newbies entering the adult webmaster industry dilute profits for everyone, or is the internet growing at a fast enough pace to allow profits for all?

the only people hurting the industry are the fuckers that been in it for long. They never happy with howmuch they make. They always want more. So then they start scamming here and there (ie. shaving) etc etc. and than one day they all end up getting slammed on GFY! noobies keep this shit alive yo!

i dont think you could say they are hurting the industry by making money that someone else could have made. if they are doing that then they are part of the industry too

What about this example... Lets say you submit TGP galleries and get listed all the time. All of a sudden, more newbies start submitting galleries and you dont get listed as much anymore because of all the other newbies getting listed instead. This doesnt cut into your profits?

I consider anyone who entered the business after 1999 a newbie. Does that effect your equation?

no way

the average newbie just gets another one of those unprofitable skimmed tgps up and running that generate close to 0 revenue.
after a few weeks/months they realize, that they will probably not become the next "hun" ... so they become sigwhores on gfy

the few with new/good ideas who treat this as a serious business survive and that's just fine IMHO

The only way Nebies can hurt is by putting up 1,000s of low quality free pages/sites or by stealing content. Therefore giving the Adult Internet a bad name.

And the reason they get away with it is the experienced ones do not take enough care to monitor them.

If newbies do the job wrong they soon disappear, if they do it right they go onto better things.

However what I suspect is those who started in this business when it was easy, all you had to do was put up a site of cheap content and throw traffic at it to make money will blame newbies and free porn for their demise.

You are the one responsible for the money you make not anyone else and if a newbie is hurting your business it's your fault.

IMO, newbies are people just getting into the industry that dont have any original ideas. Newbies try and copy what everyone else is doing and do not contribute anything significant to this industry.

Very true.

People dont realize that if someone is able to enter this industry and hurt your business with their product, then perhaps your product wasnt that good to begin with.

newbies have good and bad effects ... theyre on like a food chain, the upper people can hook the newbies with ways of increasing their traffic, so if you play it right newbies can be useful ... its the damn cheaters that hurt if anything ... such as gallery submitters that cheat, traffic trade cheaters, etc ... one thing I can say is newbies help promote things in the industry since they're always looking for new quick money schemes ... all u have to do is throw one out to one and they'll bite ... makes me happy since I'm a coder

this question is ridiculous at best, you can apply it to any single industry were money is made. I mean cmon, you want to have it all to yourself. When you started you knew wtf was going on? You didn't fuck up? You were an instant success, if you are even today that is? Just a open ended retarded question. And tell me when porn had a "good" name and when did it get "bad"? Ridiculous fuckin question

Assuming that you are using "newbie" disparagingly, I think that's daft. That's 5 years ago, you can learn a hell of a lot in 5 years, especially if you are already internet/ technology/ marketing savvy.

Sad if your view is truly this limited. To some in this industry, newbies are a good thing, to others they are harmful. I am interested in hearing peoples opinions on how they feel about them.

Limited in what way? I feel it's an open ended question that could be answered six ways to sunday. Who's it good for? Traffic brokers? People who offer services? Who's it bad for? Submitters? Your mad cause the n00b took your top spot on a tgp? Or you thought they were only accepting the first 500 webmasters in 97'?

Limited in that you did not realize how newbies can be good for some and harmful to others, hence making this a valid question.

Also, my TGP example was not a personal example. I sited that example to try and demonstrate that newbies could pose a threat to some.

Of course I realize in some ways people like them, they will bite hook line and sinker easily, as far as harmful, the ones who have caused the most harm to this industry are the big programs and certainly not n00bs. I dont think we need to cite what some big programs have done and what impact it has had.

Nobody cuts into your profits. Generally those who make the highest quality products get what they deserve. A person of any experience level will make connections for the quality of his work, before a person with no talent will regardless of how long he/she has been around.

Don't worry about anybody else, bro. Keep your mind on your riches!
