Woman Charged With Murder After Allegedly Ignoring Warnings to Have Caesarean

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A pregnant woman who allegedly ignored medical warnings to have a Caesarean section to save her twins was charged Thursday with murder after one of the babies was stillborn.

"In January, the state Supreme Court ruled that unborn children at all stages of development are covered under the state's criminal homicide statute. The law exempts the death of a fetus during an abortion."

In other words, it's ok for a doctor to deliver your baby halfway, then stab a hole in it's head to pull out it's brains. But damn if you don't have surgery when they tell you to you're going to jail. What a fucked up world.

it's not like there wasnt a REASON to have it done. ( ive seen one take place close up, they're not pretty, and it is very serious surgery, BUT there are 10 or so very experienced, highly qualified people involved in the process )

jail is harsh, yes, but..

so the doctor can force you to have surgery now? What if your head is to big and gets in peoples way, can a court force you to have bighead reduction surgery or else be charged with a crime? Fuck that

When I heard him cry, I started to cry, my husband said...what's wrong, are you ok? I said of course. I was just so happy to know he was alive! I had lost 3 before I had my son. He is a true miracle! Doctors never thought it was possible! Every night before I can go to sleep I thank god for him!
