It used to be good, now its bullshit.. I've seen sites that get far less traffic with inflated ratings... It all depends on how much traffic something gets I guess...

I've seen our traffic rangking surge when theres massive drama here on gfy... And I'ves seen other boards alexa rankings surge up into the 10,000 range when they usually don't get much traffic to make that an accurate reading..

I did point out Alexa doesn't mean much. But they do simply count hits to a site by people that have there toolbar. EpicCash is probably much higher than your sites because a lot of webmasters have it installed.

You pretty much told me I was just speaking shit. I was just trying to prove a point, and if you don't know something, you shouldn't try to prove someone wrong. Just like I don't know if EpicCash makes tons of money or not...since I don't know, I don't say they do or don't.

What is Reach?

What are Page Views?
Page views measure the number of pages viewed by Alexa Toolbar users. Multiple page views of the same page made by the same user on the same day are counted only once. The page views per user numbers are the average numbers of unique pages viewed per user per day by the users visiting the site. The page view rank is a ranking of all sites based solely on the total number of page views (not page views per user). In all seriousness.... Alexa works exactly as it was planned to work. It ranks sites by popularity based on the people using the Alexa toolbar.

A lot of adult webmasters use the Alexa toolbar. That's why GFY has such a great Alexa rating (908 at the moment). We all know GFY doesn't have enough traffic to be the 908th most popular site on the adult internet.

Alexa is sort of like a poll. When someone wants to know who will win, say, the Presidential race... pollsters call 1,000 to 5,000 random people from across the USA. The results of that poll is ususually pretty accurate to what the entire country is feeling.

Alexa is sort of the same. It gives a decent indication of popularity but isn't fool proof. The only real way we could monitor popularity of adult sites compared to other adult sites would be to have every site out there using the same counter, or something.

Until then, Alexa is as good as we can get.
