Is Webair the right choice??

I am about to change hosting company. After reading a lot on this board I had the impression that Webair had a good reputation and reasonable prices.

After some unsuccessful attempts to get in business with them, I am not so sure if they are the right choice any more.

- It's very hard to reach them by phone, (which always used to be a warning singn for me) ... I phoned them at 10 am their local time. At my third attempt I manage to reach a human being telling me he is just the tech guy and the sales staff is not in yet -- at 10 in the morning??

- Their first quotation is not what I asked for. Their second quotation takes several days plus a reminder. Now I have been waiting for a contract to sign since Saturday.

What do you believe? Should I be alerted and look for a different company?

Listen, give my man Sly a jingle. ICQ 147479144 or [email protected] . Let sly go over what you need and he'll hammer out a quote for you. I have NEVER had problem with phat. Very rarely do issues arise, like once a year, and it's minimal, like email timed out, badabing, icq'ed sly, prob fixed in 30 mins.

Yes they are the right choice.

Mike is very responsive via ICQ at just about any hour. He will get you set up and service you after the set up. #20458616

I am very suprised that you have had trouble contacting them by phone. They usually have someone available 24/7.

I thought about getting a dedicated with webair but my partners virtual with them has been nothing but a pain in the ass. Down / Slow / or just plain screwed up more than I'd like to see. Maybe it's just that box but didn't give me any faith in them as a whole.

A 747 with 400 + passengers, how many of them have got something that went wrong with their flying experience. Hard to please everyone all the time. But your comment is noted.

Highly reccomend webair if you are looking for a dedicated server.
Virtual accounts on the other hand are shaky at best.
They have nice support and response times.

Mike is a good guy , I moved my stuff to Webair a few months back and have nothing but good things to say. During the move the tech was on the phone and icq with me for 5 hours till we got the move in. Mafde sure all the scripts were working and such.

Support is amazing. I go into their site admin hit live button and get a live guy within 10 secs. Matters are resolved fast. I blew out a HD on a box and before I even told them they were aware and swapping the HD before i even called. I am happy as hell.

Plus Mike is a very nice guy and will go all out for his customers.

Sounds good. Maybe they are a bit "too" successful & their sales dept. is very busy.

Yes, I would be...But what does that have to do with jennycards personal experiences? My comments were based strictly on what they said has already happened to them.

I say: This thread was not an open invitation for spam but more a chance for people to share their experiences with Webair. Those of you who are spamming other hosts in this thread are assholes.

Should I be alerted and look for a different company?

maybe mike will give you your first month for free!

After only 3 weeks on a managed dedicated with them I tell you: You should be alerted.
Their techs are very nice, but apparently totally overworked. Getting someone on ICQ to promise something will be fixed immediately takes only a minute. Getting something to work takes usually 5 promises and one week.
To me it looks like they had more good PR lately than they can handle.

dont compare some shit virtual 20$ account to real service.

Ive been with webair for 3+ years, and have used MULTIPLE hosts during that time for side projects.

I have KILLED all accou8nts except webair now.

top of the line host.

fr those yapping about "support" ala bigdog.... webairs live support has helped me out in less than 5 minutes before, so I dont know what you are hinting to about lack of support.

their servers are NOT slow and uptime is what a host should be about.

anyhow, i dont really care what host you people use, hell i hope all of your sites are down so mine stay up.

but dont talk shit about webair, they have not slow servers, and are very helpful, and HAVE been for over 3 years with me.

please dont recommend shit companies in a thread about a good company.
