"Tala posted on GFY the day after her surgery!!"

To those saying she deserves no sympothy because she came on GFY the next day....

My Fiance (GF at the time) had the same EXACT operation as Tala did. Cut from hip to hip to remove a tumor planted on her uterus but we originally thought it was on her ovary.

Anyhow, she was in hospital for 3 days, then went home. Yes she was in extreme pain but she WAS able to move somewhat, and even get on the pc for few hours each day if needed.

she STILL gets pain to this day! months later!!

Just wanted to let you know that it IS possible. Doesnt mean she wasnt in pain, or that maybe she didnt have the surgery.

Now as far as people not paying what they promised, well i am one of those people. Not because i havent got the money, or that i didnt think it was deserved, but because i simply forgot to take care of it.

I dont know how much (if any) money this thread generated, but i have no way to track it, sorry.

But as for my money, if it wasnt for Tooties post about people missing the payments, i would have never made mine.

Check is going out and im sorry Tala, i understand what your going through, it trully isnt easy.

I'll second that - I've been in hospital for a week in the past, and I don't think I could do it again, it just about drove me to despair I was so bored. I had my girlfriend at the time bring my laptop in so that I could work...yeah, I was in pain, yeah I could probably have thought more about my health, but boredom will drive you to do crazy things...like log onto the internet.

In fact, I'm laid out flat on the couch right now posting...just goes to prove that you don't actually have to sit at a desk to get your work done.

If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say nothing at all.....

Why don't you keep your thoughts for yourself, asshole.... Do you even have a clue of what Tala is going through???

Hey oracleporn, no offense to you but if GFY put their hard earned money together to buy her surgery, she should atleast be grateful enough to follow doctor's orders.

In fact, that only pisses me off more. If she doesn't give enough of a fuck about herself not to do self-destructive things to herself, that makes me question her worthiness of charity. It's like people on the list for liver transplants, you promise not to ever drink and if they catch you drinking before the transplant, you get kicked off the list.

Yep I had two c-sections.. it's the same incision hip to hip closed with staples and excrutiatingly painful. I was up and moving the first day. You don't have much choice when you have to be up feeding a newborn :P I get to do it again in just over a month (march 4th).

LadyMischief, your situation is different. If you have to get up to feed you baby, that is not the same thing. apples and oranges.

yes i remember the doctor told her the surgery would be very similar to that of the c-section

i also remember how helpful you were when my GF was going through it all, even from when we got the first news when we were scared about it being cancerous and all ...

Yes and no. Some movement IS required after that kind of surgery or you just stiffen up.

Yeah, I agree. Like getting up to go pee, bathing yourself, getting food, etc.

Glad I can be of help.. and yeah any of those types of surgeries require the same incisions, though some have different healing. Actually in a lot of cases a hystorectomy can be a bit faster of a recovery because they do some cauterization while they're inside, but with a c-section the uterus is intact and is VERY tender. I'm hoping that having a hysto this time around will make things a bit better.

Still at least 6-8 weeks for FULL recovery for most people, and for myself it's generally 6-8 months (because of my abdominal bleeding).

Yep they don't give you bedpans you have to be able to move around. I know personally I am absolutely scared shitless I do NOT WANT surgery again but it's one of those "gotta do it" kind of things

I hope you get well quickly, LadyM. I've been lucky with my kids so far and haven't had to have a C-Section, but my mother did have a hysterectomy several years ago.

She was in alot of pain the first day and just slept but she was sitting up watching television and doing crossword puzzles the next day and he doctor actually told her to get up and move around as long as she could bear the pain. He said it would make her heal faster as long as she didn't overdo it.

If you need anything while you're healing please don't hesitate to let me know and I'll do whatever I can. Having a baby is hard enough. I can only imagine how hard it will be for you having to have surgery, too.

My youngest was completely breach when I went into labor, but no one knew it at the onset. When nothing was happening right, other than the contractions from hell, they took me for an ultrasound and found out that his butt was where his head was supposed to be and his ankles where next to his ears. So... C-Section it was.

That wasn't a bit problem. Some pain, but I was up and around within a few hours. They told me to walk as much as possible while I was in the hospital. Well... after having a baby all you ladies know they won't let you go home until they know the plumbing is all working correctly. For some reason mine wasn't. I had the nurses constantly telling me to walk ..walk...walk.. and I did and did and did. Still nothing working right.

After 8 days in the hospital, my son (they kept him there because I hadn't been released) developed a fever. After some tests it was determined that he had spinal meningitus. He did not show any of the classic signs, but the tests were positive. If we had gone home after a day or two as scheduled, it's likely I would have put it off as a bug, took him to the peds doc and got meds, etc. Likely he would have ended up brain damaged or dead.

At day 10, they decided to open me up and literally pull everything out and check it. They found a hole in my large intestine that was likely made during the C-section. Everything that was supposed to be going through my body and out the other end, was instead spilling into my abdomen and slowly poisoning me. They repaired the hole, put everything back where it belonged, and there I stayeds for another 10 days. My son was there for 21 total.

When I came home I had my C-section incision and an incision from the second surgery that began a couple of inches below my boobs and ran all the way down to the C-section incision. They told me not to sit for long periods, not to drive for 6 weeks, etc while the muscles heeled up (never thought you used stomach muscles to drive, but believe me..you do). I did too much too soon, because that's just how I am. I have a high pain threshold and if it hurts I just work through it.

But.. all in all.. if things hadn't been wrong with me, we'd have gone home on time after a day or two. It would have delayed my son's diagnosis and I would have thought my problems were just related to the C-section and not complained because "I'm a tough girl and don't want to be a whiney baby". One or the both of us would have likely be dead.

Wow PK you are LUCKY! After my daughter (my second c-section) they had to take me back into surgery an hour after because I started to bleed out and they thought they had sliced an artery. Turns out I have a form of hemophelia, but it always sucks when things don't work out as planned. It's a miracle you're both alive and well!

Thank you very much. Fortunately I'll be in capable hands with my hubby, he went through the other surgeries with me so it's all good.. I'm definitely NOT looking forward to it, but I think I will probably make a post on GFY when I get home from the hospital just to say hi! I will probably be in the hospital for 2-3 days at least (they like to keep me in because of my bleeding problems, and being that I'm an hour from the hospital complications would be bad). After that I will be glad to come home, and it will be nice to finally have the baby with the other kids They have been SO excited about having a little brother or sister. Makes me realize just how worth it it is going to be.

not sure I get it... I don't know any of the details of this, but someof you are acting like posting on GFY is hard or strenuous. I read GFY when I'm taking a break.. it's easy.. someone who just had surgery could be laying there watching TV, or laying there clicking a mouse and reading a message board... unless they had surgery on there arms or hands, then I really don't see the problem. am I missing something here?
