What a joke Denis Miller's new show is

Anyone else catch it on MSNBC tonight? How hilarious, himself and two right wing guests trying to defend the "war on terror" in Iraq, and one left wing chick owned them all. I counted, they interrupted her 6 times, but they all came out looking like asses. 3 against 1 and they still come off looking like jackasses, that's pretty bad.

He used to be ok, although his overuse of obscure references is lame, makes it obvious he's just an educated bastard trying to sound smart. His old show Dennis Miller Live was pretty fucking funny sometimes though.

For the past couple years his shit just hasn't been funny at all. Well, it's funny listening to him trying to defend being a Republican despite disagreeing with them on everything, except wanting to kill as many Muslim's as possible. You should check out his new show, it's great, I love the format. One female democrat between three republicans trying to have a conversation.

He didn't go to that good a school..point park in Pittsburgh. How do I know? Because when I was applying to colleges they called me and asked me to apply and stated that he was an alumni and that was a reason I should want to go there.

Mind you that ws better than Jerry Falwell's Liberty University calling me once a month.

I used to love Dennis Miller.
I have the rants, ranting again, and I rant therefore I am practically memorized.

Then one day he woke up and decided to be a republican.

I saw him live when I was in Vegas. It felt more like the republican national convention than a comedy show.
That's $100 and 90 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

When he was liberal he still gave Clinton and Kennedy shit, like most comics do....if you bash one side you bash the other, because there's lots of funny shit you can say about either of them.

He never said one bad thing about Dubya or any republican the whole show.....and god knows there's tons of Quayle like jokes to be made about the current administration........he's just another asshole with an agenda now, what a waste of talent

It's all a game, it's not about politics at alll...

consider the republicans have moved more toward the center...jesus look at the Bush Budget, and democrats under Clinton have done the same thing.

It's Median Voter Theory.

anyway..

It's all about the money.

He sold out to get approval for his Monday Night Football slot and to hopefully get a slot on MSNBC. Once you move to the Republican side of life you can work forever on TV but unfortunately no one believes his bullshit. Like we forgot what side of the fence he was on a few years ago. Sure.

He had a great guest on tonight, Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr from Harvard. Too bad he had one of the jackasses from yesterday back and let him talk more than Gates.

Lenny, that sucks, I'd want my money back. When I saw his first act on TV after 9/11, I couldn't believe my ears. Every joke was pushing the Bush agenda, from Iraq to Alaska. His reasoning on his first episode of his new show is that "his view of the world changed on 9/11". Yeah right, maybe that was the day his HBO show got cancelled and the NFL called. I'm sure if Gore was President he wouldn't have gone after Bin Laden. Maybe not Saddam, but we all know what a great idea that was. Or somehow Bush has done a great job by not capturing Osama or doing anything to the country the hi-jackers were from.

dennis miller has never been funny, just another jewish actor with poor talent that sells himself wherever he can make a quick buck.

his humor is dry and far from funny.

I've actually thought the last couple of years that he may have Parkinsons Disease. He trembles a lot (his head and hands) and his speech seems to be getting slower and less syncopated. I wasn't surprised when he jumped the fence, the Republican party will take any celebrity they can get and some of them extend their moment in the sun that way.

Yeah, I saw him in Baltimore a year or so ago. It just wasn't the sam as his older stuff.

Did you see where he gave Bush a free pass (he's not going to make jokes about him at all)?

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...ennis_miller_5

Dennis Miller (news) has usually been happy to spray his acerbic wit across the political spectrum, but things will be different on his new CNBC talk program. President Bush (news - web sites) is in a mock-free zone.

"I like him," Miller explained. "I'm going to give him a pass. I take care of my friends."

Miller is a familiar figure from his years on "Saturday Night Live," HBO and "Monday Night Football," but he will be in a different role on his daily show that debuts 9 p.m. EST Monday.

This is the Miller who has appeared at fund-raisers for Bush, ridden with the president on Air Force One, sat in the gallery at last week's State of the Union speech and was even talked about as a Republican senatorial candidate in California.

you'd be surprised how many of them there are, I think FletchXXX summed it up pretty well on another board:

"Most Americans that call themselves or align themselves with the conservatives or neoconservatives have no ideological basis for calling themselves such. They just think that since they are not faggot liberal hippies that they must be conservatives. "

just like poor white trash, dumb enough to think the Repubs are on thier side and the repubs are more than happy to pander to them. I imagine if Bush ever runs out of wars they'll come after us, and we'll see some political conversions around here.

Towards the middle!?! Of What, Fascism? The only person that Bush is left of is Mussolini. If you look at his stance on abortion, free speech and gay rights there is nothing even moderately center about his position. His concept of Free Choice is that you are free to choose his choices.

I read an article where Al Franken was saying that Miller has always been a conservative and didn't let it out since it wasn't as popular in Hollywood . . .

I think he is an overrated pontificating prick whose time has come . . he can suck my balls.

Ya no shit. I agree completely.

He's not right winged. He used to be a lot more to the left. Now he's more middle of the road. For example, he was on Leno the other night and Leno said something like, "I've noticed you seem to swing more the right now." He disagreed stating that some Bush policies he agrees with and some he doesn't. Like gay marriages. He thinks Bush is wrong and sees nothing wrong with two people in love getting married.

I think people forget he's a comedian. He puts his own spin on things. I've been watching him for years and he hasn't changed. He just speaks his mind and tries to do it in an ironic way to make people laugh. Taking what he says as fact or policy is like going to Mc Donald's as part of a healthy diet.

Exactly, he's just like everyone else who votes Republican, they don't agree with them on any policies but they're afraid that the Democrats won't protect them. You know, like if Gore was President he wouldn't have caught Osama so fast like Bush did. Well, he got one brown guy anyway, same thing, we're all safe now. When you start voting out of fear you're a sheep.

I think Dig420 and Fletch summed it up pretty damn nicely. Great post, thanks for including it in my thread.

I was making fun of people who think Bush's foreign policies are making them safer.

When you start voting out of fear you're a sheep.

Wow. He's just like everyone else who votes republican? Have ya met everyone else to know this as fact or did you just overhear on TV and liked it?

It's just amazing how people so easily can speak for everyone else. It must be nice to live in a world where facts mean nothing and opinion and rhetoric mean everything.

No, it's terrifying. To live in a world where people listen to Hannity, Coulter, Limbaugh, etc, and take them as serious journalists trying to report the truth, is fucking terrifying to every person outside the USA, and about 50% of the US itself. The fact that people supported a bullshit war because Bush said Saddam and 9/11 enough times in the same sentence is fucking scary.

First off all, my point proves itself for anyone posting on this board and calling themselves a Republican. If you fall in that category, you're a hypocrite not worth my time, but I'll grace you with a little of it anyway for my own entertainment.

Ok, I guess I should have said, if you're a religious fanatic, an oil/defense company executive, or a major polluter, you agree with the party. The fact is most people who vote for Bush do not agree with his polices, they're blinded by the Fox/CBS/CNN scare tactics into thinking he's going to protect them. Want me to prove my point?

Anyone on this board who votes GOP, list 10 Bush policies you agree with...

Go.

What did Dennis Miller say about Sean Penn when he opposed the war? "Dead career walking"? Good call as always Dennis.
