How many of you are old enough to have seen Led Zeppelin in concert ?

Lightspeed Radio is spinning the tunes, just occured to me that a lot of you were in Diapers when they were touring !
I have seen them twice in Toronto, Also seen Robert Plant on his own after the split in London . Coverdale and Page, Then the Page and Plant reincarnation. Any one else ?

I was supposed to go with some neighbors around 1980, but then Bonham died and the tour was cancelled.

I saw Page and Plant at the Toronto Sky Dome, good show, they rocked out hard, but of course didn't play Stairway, I guess that should remain sacred for the real Zeppelin.

I've seen Page and Plant, Bonham died before I was born . They had some Australian drummer who kicked ass though. Good show.

Dead Fidel...

It was 1977 at the Garden.. I was there and still have the ticket stub. I was in 8th Grade. It was the last tour with John Bonham, we were very lucky. I had fuckin' GREAT seats, red level (first) Just right above the stage (fucking perfect).

They played EVERYTHING!! It was fucking awesome. Dazed and Confused for 35 mins, Kashmir for like 25, and all the other great hits including most if not all from the double live album "song remains the same" . That was actually the 1973 concerts from the Garden.

What was so amazing was that they played THREE sets, two electric, and one acustic!! Imagine that!! The 4 of them sitting on chairs just jamming songs like "going to california".

Dude, I don't know which show exactly you were at (I think there were 3 shows) but MAN, the fucking audience were lighting off
m-80 firecrackers the whole time!! I was scared as shit considering they were lobbing them off the top seats and I was at the bottom thinking I was gonna get my head blown off!

Good shit, good memories...

I'm old enough, but never saw them in person.

However, I did go to a prom when I was in the 10th grade and the band was Lynyrd Skynyrd back before they were "famous". And I saw the Stray Cats open for the Rolling Stones and get booed off the stage, lol!

I was in 6th grade when Bonzo died. Some of my friends were talking about going, but I didn't have a job, so it would have been a pipe dream for me to say I would have seen them (could have is one thing, would have is another)

I did see Jimmy Page at the Meadowlands, when he was in The Firm. They kicked ass in concert, probably one of the best shows I ever went to (and it was a last minute scalp job, too)
Page must have played three solos, and he was amazing. I know some of his studio work can sound rough, but at that show, he was king of the world.

I am old enough to have seen them, but I didn't like rock and roll back then, so I never did. I was more of a Captain & Tennille / Abba / Starland Vocal Band fan. I did see Kenny Rogers in 1980. He rocked.

Now I am older and like rock, but I still haven't acquired a taste for Zep. I can't get over Plant's screechy singing. Sounds like the wind whistling through an aardvark's ass (quoting WC Fields.)

If anyone wants to see the closest thing to John Bonham live go see the Melvins.

Dale Crover is the new Bonham.

Geddy Lee I like... His voice is high, but focused and not scratchy. If he weren't a Canadian, he'd be perfect!

LZ was my very first concert. I was 10 and I went with a friend of mine and his older brother. Salt Palace in SLC, Utah. 1969 (Great year!)

Still probably my favorite all time band.

Funny thing, I still have the ticket stub from the first time I saw Aerosmith in 1978 -
Single Ticket Price $7.70 - think it was the Draw the Line tour

Saw Aerosmith last winter
Single Ticket Price $75.00 - that's before service charge and parking (Tickets were $125 each for last years Kiss & Aerosmith show)

DTK - yeah they were good times he he he
