How many of you are old enough to have seen Led Zeppelin in concert ?
Lightspeed Radio is spinning the tunes, just occured to me that a lot of you were in Diapers when they were touring !:1orglaugh
I have seen them twice in Toronto, Also seen Robert Plant on his own after the split in London . Coverdale and Page, Then the Page and Plant reincarnation. Any one else ? |
I seen paige solo in 87ish.. jason bohnam was playing drums for paige at the time.
There was a guy that opened called mason ruffner or something like that. Unknown guy but dude could play a pretty mean axe. |
Not me :( But I've seen some awsome shit on video.
|
JFK... how are you?
I think I was about 8 years old when Led Zep II came out! |
I was supposed to go with some neighbors around 1980, but then Bonham died and the tour was cancelled.
|
I saw Page and Plant at the Toronto Sky Dome, good show, they rocked out hard, but of course didn't play Stairway, I guess that should remain sacred for the real Zeppelin.

|
saw page and plant when I was 13
edit: 13-15 somewhere in there |
I saw em in Detroit in 197? .... I'm old enought to remember going, but dont remember when it was.... then again... consider what was going on in the early '70's... :Graucho
|
They say that you are only as old as you feel and I reguarly feel someone that is old enough to have seen them. Does that count?
|
I was alive but young. No interest in their music. Not much interest still.

Dead Fidel...
It was 1977 at the Garden.. I was there and still have the ticket stub. I was in 8th Grade. It was the last tour with John Bonham, we were very lucky. I had fuckin' GREAT seats, red level (first) Just right above the stage (fucking perfect). They played EVERYTHING!! It was fucking awesome. Dazed and Confused for 35 mins, Kashmir for like 25, and all the other great hits including most if not all from the double live album "song remains the same" . That was actually the 1973 concerts from the Garden. What was so amazing was that they played THREE sets, two electric, and one acustic!! Imagine that!! The 4 of them sitting on chairs just jamming songs like "going to california". Dude, I don't know which show exactly you were at (I think there were 3 shows) but MAN, the fucking audience were lighting off m-80 firecrackers the whole time!! I was scared as shit considering they were lobbing them off the top seats and I was at the bottom thinking I was gonna get my head blown off! Good shit, good memories... |
The cosmic energy - everybody goes yeaaaaahhhhhh bash.
Get The Song Remains The Same dvd - its class, really is. |

I'm old enough, but never saw them in person. :(
However, I did go to a prom when I was in the 10th grade and the band was Lynyrd Skynyrd back before they were "famous". And I saw the Stray Cats open for the Rolling Stones and get booed off the stage, lol! :1orglaugh |
thank god there is finally something that i was not old enough for
|
I was in 6th grade when Bonzo died. Some of my friends were talking about going, but I didn't have a job, so it would have been a pipe dream for me to say I would have seen them (could have is one thing, would have is another)
I did see Jimmy Page at the Meadowlands, when he was in The Firm. They kicked ass in concert, probably one of the best shows I ever went to (and it was a last minute scalp job, too) Page must have played three solos, and he was amazing. I know some of his studio work can sound rough, but at that show, he was king of the world. |
I am old enough to have seen them, but I didn't like rock and roll back then, so I never did. I was more of a Captain & Tennille / Abba / Starland Vocal Band fan. I did see Kenny Rogers in 1980. He rocked.
Now I am older and like rock, but I still haven't acquired a taste for Zep. I can't get over Plant's screechy singing. Sounds like the wind whistling through an aardvark's ass (quoting WC Fields.) BL |
I watched the song remains the same a few times.. does that count? ;)
|
I am but I never went to any of their concerts.

Good one Lou:thumbsup Altough I dont agree with you on that , Geddy Lee from Rush sounds more like that :winkwink: |
Hanging my head as I admit this
I saw Zeppelin on the "Presence" tour - was in 9th grade Also saw the Stones on the "Some Girls" tour I agree with groucho, a man is only as old as the woman he feels |
If anyone wants to see the closest thing to John Bonham live go see the Melvins.
Dale Crover is the new Bonham. |
Unfortunately, no. I AM old enough, however, to know that they are a great band!
