Personally, I only want to go to school to learn something that will make ME money. Some people might thinkg learning is enjoyable, and like to learn for the sake of learning, but I am not one of them. I only want to do something if it will help me make money, since that's all I care about, otherwise there is no point.
That's just for me, it might be different for other people. Anyways, I do need help picking a major. For all you BUSINESS, or FINANCE majors, does it consist of a lot of really advanced math beyond Calculus? Is the math really hard? It's been like 7 years when I went to high school and I sort of forgot how to do Math, lol. When I took the assesment test they told me I had to take Math 070 which is intermediate algebra lol ![]() What's a major that produces the most income without a lot of Math/Chemistry/Science classes? I am only interested in majors that have jobs that are high paying, not interested in art, english or the like... |

financially because I have to pay off student loans, and worry about bills as well, financial security is important for me. I am not referring to profit because I'm just referring to majors that have good job opportunities with high income potential, I don't want to waste time, effort, and money studying something and not be able to find a job or find a very low paying job, I just want to make it worth my while. That's all I'm saying ![]() |

that's cool. but the real value of University is learning to think and adapt, as well as the experience itself.
the day Universities become nothing more than job factories for the masses, is the day Western civilization truly declines.

I don't think anyone regrets going to college; I certainly don't.
Most of the "college is not needed for success" opinions are by those that did not go to college and still became successfull. They are trying to rub in that you wasted 4 or more years of your life, and you make less money than them. I don't have any statistics available but I would be willing to bet, that college educated businessmen are on average more successfull than a non-educated businessmen. And besides, college is fun, opens oportunities, you get to meet cool people, get exposed to fresh ideas, and you also learn something while you are at it. How can you go wrong?
