I am, if anything, a man of the people. I'm just as interested to read Trey's responses as I am to present the points I've presented. Anyone that knows anything knows there are two sides to every story (then there's the truth)...... it appears that boths sides are well represented here.


Fact is, Acacia IS also targeting affiliates (of any program), so there is nothing to say that I couldn't be next to get "the letter". Trying to insinuate that my opinion is invalid simply because I don't run a program is way off base, and more than slightly out of line. I'm trying to say that we all have a stake in this. I'm not sure why anyone would want to argue that point.


Maybe others will see a thread like this and at least realize that choosing to settle with Acacia isn't going to solve all their troubles, but very likely open up a can of new ones.

Wouldn't this fact render the patent null and void?

My bet is that it will be held invalid due to prior art.

Well, I read this entire thread and be damned if I could only think of one thing. Why the hell is McD's in his signature? Is there real meaning hidden in it? Is he comparing EpicCash to McD's? Does he work for McD's? Is he hoping that if this doesn't go well there will always be a job for him at McD's? Is he saying that EpicCash only brings in enough money to eat at McD's and not a decent restaurant? Or is it that most webmasters should be working at McD's? Does he think Acacia will leave him with only enough money to buy McD's? Hell if I know.

Now if I'm expected to comment on this whole situation about the only thing I can come up with is this. In my opinion, if you want respect, no matter what position you take as a company for heaven's sakes stay professional even on GFY. To me that means I would expect that there would be no profanity and things be worded in a professional and intelligent manner without appearing to insult others even though you may be in the line of fire and be insulted yourself.
