![]() I'd like it said for the record, that no matter who the U.S. post in power in Iraq, we'll be at war with them within 10-15 years. I see a pattern forming:
Cuba: Castro - didn't the U.S. decide they should kill him soon after they put him in power? (Before they decided that killing world leaders was bad) Israel: Ayatollah Khomeni - again, I think the U.S. put this guy in power, shortly before they decided to have a war with him. Al Quaida: Osama bin Laden - If I'm not mistaken, the U.S. funded Al Quaida in order to defeat the soviet occupation of Afghanistan. Iraq: Saddam Hussein - Put in power when the U.S. overthrew the previous leader. Anyone see any patterns forming? The U.S. put people in power of these countries, then these leaders get pissed off with the U.S. dictating their policies, and then the U.S. go to war with them.

US installed Castro? Ayatollah in Israel? Dude the only pattern here is the loop in your cabeza. Get informed before you make posts like this.
Edit: Although maybe the patterns you're talking about maybe real, your facts are WAY off man.

Yeah, we have a bad habit of promoting the wrong people... Castro wasn't our bad though (at least I don't think so.)

The only pattern in the example you listed is all those guys were fighting off foreign influence and gained power in the process of rebellions of perceived agressors, in most cases the US.
I am trying to stay patriotic here in light of everything, but I'm not letting you get away with this distortion of history. Here's what actually happened, in the correct countries even: 1. Fidel Castro in Cuba- armed coup (Cuban Revolution) against US supported dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista in 1959 2. Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini of Iran - armed coup against US supported Muhammad Reza Shah Pahlavi in 1979 3. Osama and Al Queda in Afghanistan - armed resistance to a leftist coup and subsequent soviet invasion in 1978, Osama participated in guerilla war against the russians and although the rebels were supported by US, I doubt bin Laden ever thought as himself as 'working for the US' 4. Saddam Hussein in Iraq - a series of coups starting with coup against pro-western King Faisal II, left most power in Iraq in the hands of pro-stalinist regimes, ending with Saddam Hussein in 1979. Saddam had some CIA contact but clearly had his own agenda which was always alot less pro-western that the west liked it. He had close ties with communist Russia as well as Rumanian dicatator Nicolae Ceausescu Really the only pattern here, is lots of shit happened in 1958 as well as 1979 a year before Regan would be elected and also same year George Bush sr. had biggest weight in the CIA which was operating heavily in all 4 areas noted above. Maybe this is not the pattern you were looking for but it is what it is. Man, if you're going to go to bat for your country, use some samples that don't actually work against it.
