The only pattern in the example you listed is all those guys were fighting off foreign influence and gained power in the process of rebellions of perceived agressors, in most cases the US.
I am trying to stay patriotic here in light of everything, but I'm not letting you get away with this distortion of history. Here's what actually happened, in the correct countries even:
1. Fidel Castro in Cuba- armed coup (Cuban Revolution) against US supported dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista in 1959
2. Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini of Iran - armed coup against US supported Muhammad Reza Shah Pahlavi in 1979
3. Osama and Al Queda in Afghanistan - armed resistance to a leftist coup and subsequent soviet invasion in 1978, Osama participated in guerilla war against the russians and although the rebels were supported by US, I doubt bin Laden ever thought as himself as 'working for the US'
4. Saddam Hussein in Iraq - a series of coups starting with coup against pro-western King Faisal II, left most power in Iraq in the hands of pro-stalinist regimes, ending with Saddam Hussein in 1979. Saddam had some CIA contact but clearly had his own agenda which was always alot less pro-western that the west liked it. He had close ties with communist Russia as well as Rumanian dicatator Nicolae Ceausescu
Really the only pattern here, is lots of shit happened in 1958 as well as 1979 a year before Regan would be elected and also same year George Bush sr. had biggest weight in the CIA which was operating heavily in all 4 areas noted above.
Maybe this is not the pattern you were looking for but it is what it is.
Man, if you're going to go to bat for your country, use some samples that don't actually work against it.
