I've got me a nice set of 100 watt JBL's. More than enough sound poundage for me.

yeah It's all high current too. Got an old 1976 class "a" panasonic 73 watt per channel bridged in mono pounding a 4 foot tall (wide - depending on how I want it set) subwoofer bin with a single 10 inch 300 watt jenson behind my chair with two surrounds on each side of it taking in 50 watts each side from a high current Sherwood combo amp/tuner. I also have a 500 watt JVC reciever pounding into two full sized floor standing towers with 10 inch paper cones with rubber surrounds. on each side of my desk pointing inwards at my chair. It is unreal.

I was listening to a tune from Fear Factory and I could literaly feel my whole chair flutter with each bass drum kick. Fucking AMAZING sound...

"Altec Lansing ADA-995 is a Lucasfilm THX certified 5.1 channel speaker system. Each satellite features a 3-inch full range driver and 1.5-inch tweeter. The subwoofer produces rich deep bass with two 6.5-inch long throw drivers in a ported enclosure. Overall, this system delivers over 200 watts of continuous power at an impressive 115dB. This is by far the ultimate audio system for any computer and it brings true cinema sound to your PC. Installation is a breeze with all the satellites connecting directly to the subwoofer. "

THX 5.1
100watt sub
20x5 surround

and they sound as good as my Bose did before I sold them

2 Cerwin Vega LS12 300watts (Main fronts)
1 Cerwin Vega E-76c 125 watts (center)
2 Cerwin Vega E-706 125 watts (surround)
2 Cerwin Vega E-76c 125 watts (surround back for dolby digital 6.1/7.1)
1 Cerwin Vage LW-12 150 watts (Sub) - had another sub but let my bro have it

Onkyo dolby digital receiver here, with an ATI 2 channel amp (225 watts per channel into 4 ohms) driving the mains. 5 PSB Stratus speakers all around, with a PSB 350 watt, 15 inch subwoofer.

Playing 'Call of Duty' rocks with over 1000 watts of power.

Only wish this Audigy 2 Platinum sound card I wasted all this money on would do true dolby digital out the digital output.

All sounds good Most amps claimed to be high current aren't, but I will vouche that Denon actualy is. Buddy of mine has a denon amp, really kicks major balls, right up there with Yamaha... in fact, I think Denon uses the same chasis.

I see you're a Cerwin fan. Not bad party speakers. I blew a pair of 100 watt cerwins with a 25 watt amp tho. Pop the drivers out and slap some Paradigm drivers in them and you have yourself a slamming good quality sounding system

Not out the digital output. I have it connected to the digital input on my receiver (just one coax cable) and it just comes out as dolby pro logic. The only way to get 5.1 (or 6.1) out of it is to use the analog outputs.

ah, you might need an external DTS decoder then. Do you have the live drive? Try using the optical connections and see what happens.

Nah, I researched it for days on the newsgroups, etc. and I know for sure you can't get true 5.1 or 6.1 out of any of the digital outputs (unless you are using Creative Labs speakers, which have a proprietary digital connector)

It downconverts it to 2 channels so you have to choose dolby pro logic on the receiver.

The only way for it to work is if your receiver has 5.1 (or higher) analog inputs, so you can connect all the analog outputs of the sound card directly into the receiver.

Still sounds good though as dolby pro logic. Would be nice to have the rear sound separation though.

ah man, that sucks, to get the rear discrete channels I run a second amp just for rears. I am using all analogue myself. It's a pain in the ass to tweak two seperate amps to sound alike but I managed with the help of a 22 band EQ on the fronts and a 5 band on the rears and a shelving AND parametric on the sub amp

Right now all I am missing is a center channel that is discrete. So I'm in 4 channel mode on my sound card. Works kick ass for music and gamming, just wouldn't watch movies on the pc when I have a discrete 5 channel sound going on in the living room.

I haven't blown my Cerwin Vegas yet so it's all good I love my Denon amp. Fucking rocks the house big time. When I do blow my CV speakers I'll keep your reccomendation in mind

I wanna get myself a much bigger sub later on though.. Of course with the setup I have now I get plenty of very clear and powerful bass. My land lady tried to compete with my system yesterday lol.. After the "competeion" she came down here and was like "WTF do you have?" lol I warned her when I moved in not to compete haha

I bought that one... used it for a couple weeks and then boxed it up and put it in the corner in the garage. Been there ever since, collecting spiders.

You guys have all this shit on your computer? Damn. My setup is in my living room. All in all, was about $700, I pieced it together. It's pretty decent, perfect for the size of my living room.

I've been thinking about building my own media unit, I don't know what they're called. Would be pretty sweet though. Download all my CDs to a computer, and I'd have a nice little setup.

my Klipsch 5.1 setup is louder than my home stereo system and sounds just as good if not better. There aren't many products out there that I totally 100% with no reservations approve of wholeheartedly, but I've been using klipsch for several years and can't say enough good things about them.

I should buy some stock in the company ;)
