NEVER judge karaoke
Yeah. I judged some tonite at a bar. REAL good talent there, I was impressed. Extremly hard to pick 3 out of the 10. Semi finals.
Anyways... 3 judges picked 3 each we thought were best based on points. They announced the winners and the drunken masses started to get angry. "Voting for the olympics next?" I just said "Yeah. I am Russian though so I have an excuse" Bolted out of there as they started getting pissy. But we picked the best ones. Saturday will be fun to watch! (cant vote, I know a finalist. ![]()

Karaoke contests usually remind me of bad George Romero "Dawn of the Dead" movies

Back when I was into law, the firm I worked for had 99% Korean clients, so we had to make a presence in Korea town. A few times a month we would have a night on the town which would start off at a Korean bar for drinks, then to a Korean BBQ for dinner, and usually went afterwards to a Korean karaoke bar.
Very high tech, where they had systems that would track how close you were able to stay with the beat/tempo/rhythm of the song. Trust me when I say, you do not want to listen to a drunken Korean try to sing a song in English. Friends don't let drunken friends sing karaoke |
