Should not disturb the past. They are extinct for a reason. But human nature seems to be to fuck with things they shouldn't.

So I say go for it. I'll pay admission to see a prehistoric park in Siberia.

What about endangered animals, should we close them? How about if them being extinct is due to human mismanagement of the land, should we clone then?

Just wondering where you draw the line on cloning or if you're just purely against it

There is a good chance of excessive hunting on Mammoths by humans being a part of their extinction, so I don't see anything wrong with bringing them back. Besides, it isn't that long since they wandered the earth.

The Dodos should definitely be brought back. They were very unique creatures, and went extinct solely because of humans.

Natural selection has its fine lines.
I suppose humans did fuck up a lot of species. I believe if we killed them off due to hunting or polution...

Actually that being said their prey could run rampant eating MORE than normal killing off a different species. Never thought of it that way. We could indirectly be killing millions of creatures daily.

I say get a genetic sample of as many species as possible male and female (several different ones so we dont inbreed retarded hippos) and store them.

I think cloning is bad for example of random animals from 1m-100k years ago. But then what do I know.

That's just a few. If you have some time, research extinct animals in Google and name the species that you would like to revive the most. Would be fun.

Huh? We shouldn't correct the tragic accident we caused because a homo named "twistyneck" on a porno forum thinks the Dodo looked funny?

The Dodo was perfectly adapted to its natural environment, by the way. It had no enemies until some idiots came along and slaughtered them all.

I think it would be fantastic to bring back one mammoth at least and to observe it scientifically.. It wouldn't be overly difficult to do, either.

Cin... you might want to re-read writings on archaeolgy a little closer. Mammoth hunting is a basic fairy tale unless they were found wounded or ill. ;-)

Yes. some were hunted but not very many. This is from ancient garbage dump investigations from quite a few places in the World.

Go tell that to Discovery who devoted an entire documentary to Mammoth extinction, complete with scenes of Mammoth hunting techniques, one of which involved scaring packs of Mammoths off edges with fire and loud sounds.

Mammoths were hunted
Mainly by herding them to where they'd fall off a cliff or into a dead end so that they could then be clubbed to death.

Good Grief didn't you read Jean Auel ?

What I'd really like to see are scientists save already alive animals, like whales and such.. Humans have hunted whales to within an inch of extinction, why not clone them and get a decent population base of them now before they are extinct..

I mean there are heaps of animals that are dieing out at the moment due to human neglegence, that we could save with the technology we have !!

just my
