Not really what you should do is either get a live rep (preferably sales) have him connect you to tech and get things straightened out. They seem to pay attention to the ppl that start up complaints.

Or secondly, call them up and cancel the contract cuz that style of support doesn't allow your business to grow, hence your losing money by hosting with them instead of allowing the network to strengthen your sales.

its rediculous.. i asked them to ad 3 domains into their dns after i put them on my server. it took 3 days, this is the norm there it seems. every single ticket i open there i have to call 2 days later to see what the delay is all about.

Why dont you take a look at your contract that's what they'll sue you based on, but take a look if there's a support clause in there...

If there isn't any support clause, then you know next time you sign a contract you better make sure its something reasonable like 24 - 36 hours

If there is a clause there on the response time for support requests you can tell the judge (representing yourself and saving money) that they didn't hold up to the contract hence its null and void.

Regardless, there is something known as fair market value, now I assume this would just as easily apply to support.

Basically if you are paying $10,000/mbit and the fair market value is $1000. You can break out of the contract, same with support, if the fair market response time is 24 hours you can try this technique with both the reps and the judge.

The test of a company usually comes when you plan on leaving them rather than when you plan on signing up with them. If they're just as gracious letting you go, as signing you up, that's high class.

i gave up, ive already contacted my rep before. that does no good, maybe it helps a particular ticket, but when another problem arises i can be assured nobody will get anything done for days.

the best is when you call support directly and they tell you oh yeah, sorry about that, we only have 1 person who can handle that and he wont be here for awhile.

my rep at candidhosting is mark. i call him and he has someone on my every problem within seconds. he also checks back to make sure things are fixed and working.

if you're having problems with your rep, perhaps you can contact sharon to get switched to another one. i believe she is the person who would look into things like reps who don't fix problems for customers.

You know, rackshack has some great support

I don't care what people say, but I'm happy with my cheap rackshack server. No real problems and every support ticket gets answered asap. Shit, I've had support tickets resolved with minutes during business hours.

Paying over a dollar a gig at Candid is beyond me. Have you seen their new virtual packages? 25 gigs for $45/month and $50 set-up. About a month ago, they had 50 gig virtual plans for $25 and now half the gigs for about twice the price LOL

anyway, rack shack rocks!! your own server for the price of a virtual.

Support is the key, so are 30 day contracts........

No one really bothers to read the Terms and conditions of their sales contracts. Most real Hosting providers offer a Service Level Agreement anymore.

If your host cant offer a Service Level Agreement for network uptime as well support turnaround times then why are you letting your business go to amatuers?

Read your sales contrcats, then look into a new host ASAP. If I was you I would look for recomendations other than making my decision strictly on price.

You get what you pay for.
