Of course they are not, one is cut out of a 'Presidential Cloth' the other...

Last I heard he was mending fences both literally and figuratively.

Speaking of Al Gore, Clinton may yet go down as one of the best presidents the US had. Articulate, funny, and intelligent, he deftly melded interpersonal skills with political savvy. It's really too bad about the impeachment thing. Unlike the other US president that got impeached, Andrew Johnson, Clinton's term in office will probably only rise in stature as years go by.:2 cents:

speaking from personal experience as someone from a foreign country

i find most americans to be nice people and not the stuck up self absorbed individuals they're made to be.
most thought the US is far from perfect but much better than other places throughout the world.
i met many who expressed huge interest in my country, who i was, wanted to see and learn as much as possible. of course there were the odd questions too quite often - like do we have trees or do we wear clothes but that's the exception and not the rule.
one thing that stuck out at me when i first arrived was how corteus they are. saying thank you all the time and how they'd say hello to you even as you're just passing by them.

Couple years ago, we were at Atlanta Intl Airport flying to Europe and this guy barely hanging onto his 4 bags running for his flight goes by us and actually turns to us to say hello, how are you. 8 hours later on the other side of the big pond nobody gave a damn, i couldn't get straight directions to where the passport check-in was, people would just snub you.

the highschool education needs to be reformed. i was a teachers aide my last year in HS and got to grade tests for 7-10th graders. handwriting aside, most of these guys and girls couldn't spell simple words even i picked up on them and when i first came here i could barely speak english, I had to look up words in the dictionary. a lot of students thought canada was in europe, some wondered if we had cars in europe or if we wore clothes.

the us is a nice country but the chirch has a lot of power. people seem to think it's okay to impose morals on others.

america is still racially divided too, at least from my observations. when i first came here i was told not to socialize with blacks. even white kids at school when i tried to talking to a black person they'd tell me later not to, i might get in trouble
blacks always seemed to become better friends with us international students.

my friend who came with me here, got married for a black guy and people didn't think too well of that

all in all i'd say most americans are good people, no reason to dislike them :)
