You're probably not going to like the answer, but not really.
Not equivalent. You could run Premiere, but that is not as good.
Or you could get an Avid set up, but that is over kill.

For PC the new Premiere pro is pretty good.

Premiere will be able to do the same, they are pretty much at the same level. If you have too much money I would look into getting ?Smoke?. Although I am sure it runs in the 30K+ range.

Greg, I think you'll find a close PC-equivalent to Final Cut Pro 4 in Vegas 4, from Sonic Foundry/Sony Media Software. Many of the features in both programs are identical or very similar. If you've got a fast processor (2.4GHz+) and a lot of memory (1GB+), the performance is outstanding.
