Any Bruce Lee fans out here?

Hopefully with the revival in martial arts movies that KILL BILL portends, there will be renewed interest in the works of a TRUE MASTER--BRUCE LEE!

bjj is part of the puzzle, and yes i do train all around, if you knew anything about jkd you would know that it is more of a philosophy than an art, its a way of expressing yourself in any "art" you choose to express

I wouldn't say that kill bill is going to bring about a revival of martial arts films..
Far from it..

by the way, nice quote. MDMA was legal as a psychiatric drug back in 1989. Ironic.

Very Taoist... Aikido is similar. What defeats the enemy is not YOUR strenght...it is the enemy's own misplaced anger and energy.

Once Upon A Time in China (the first one) being a fave.

It became part of the puzzle after a JKD guy got his ass whoped in the early UFC's.

From the grappling that I've encountered by supposed JKD types, it is sorely lacking.

As for Bruce Lee coming up with the Philosphy of JKD, or use whatever works, you can find that from different chinese and japanese systems prior to him.

As a Chinese, growing up under strict martial art trainning, I am shameful to say that I haven't seen any Bruce Lee movies. They are just not allowed in china back then.

Jet Li is kind of cute and he won national championship of martial art.

Bruce Lee was a great actor, not a fighter in the sense that you would call a Gracie family member a fighter.

There's a reason you don't see Kung Fu, JKD, TKD etc in NHB. They don't actually work except on a frightened and non-resisting or shocked opponent.

Muay Thai and BJJ. That's it. Those are your options when it comes to actual fighting. I wish all you crazies with the deadly pressure point system and Vibrating Palm of Death technique would just get over it and touch base with reality.

Nah, Dig let them think that shit works.

Both of us know in real life that 10 guys wait their turn to attack you one by one before you throw out a side kick or punch.

Martial art, it's an art! It looks good to perform, good for your health and mind. It wasn't meant to beat people at first.

yet again another stupid thread. i said jkd is much more than what most post. i too train in BJJ and you must learn all ranges in combat to be proficient in the martial way. even the great grapplers know that you must learn some kind of stand up fighting. shit when i was a bouncer we had one guy that was pure bjj, i being jkd/kali/bjj knew more and tried to tell him the errors of his ways. he didnt listen and said bjj is all he needed. well one night when he took some guy down to the ground, i guess some one forgot to tell him the 5 others guys kicking him in the head were sopposed to play fair.

Heya Sifu, I have studied with both Paul and Danny.

Notice novices usually have a loyalty to a "style" or "art", nothing wrong with that, it's when you become proficient at, have enough confidence in and peace of mind with, your own mastery of the art you are loyal to... that you can branch out and study other systems/techniques.
Then is when you can see that only those who haven't mastered their art (to the degree mentioned above) have a loyalty.

Give me a FUCKING BREAK!

Like your JKD/KALI/BJJ training could have stopped his 5 other friends from kicking your ass?! Just like a Bruce Lee movie right?! FUCKTARD.

All you dumb ass stand up fighters always need an excuse.

Your bouncer friend was an idiot who didn't rely on backup. A fucking hot dog. If he was on my team when I bounced, he'd be fired.
