McFerrin has been a perennial jazz master for as long as i can remember. Don't worry be happy was originally his song in the 70's. Guess he needed some money for that brief period in the 80's or something.

Not a lot of people know that, just thought I'd chime in :).

King Missile. Like just about all of the other bands mentioned here as 'one hit wonders' they had quite a few hits, and wrote a ton more songs for other bands that turned into hits. The lead guy on King Missile is one of the most sought after producers in the world now.

Furious_Female 11-10-2003 10:47 AM

Digable Planets - Cool Like That

El Pres 11-10-2003 10:52 AM

Shutupa ya face - Some Italian Bloke

It's really old big band/swing from the 30s or something and was probably his most popular song. I have the mp3 but could never find my favorite version of it that he did.

Creed- because all their songs suck/sound the same...

Mogulman 11-10-2003 12:49 PM

I'm going with Blur - Song 2. Blur has had other good songs, but Song 2 is really the only thing one could call a "hit".

Tom Tom Club

"Genius of Love"

Honez 11-10-2003 12:58 PM

Walkng on Sunshine - Katrina and the Waves

Soft Cell and Gerry Rafferty did have other chart hits so not OHW's as such....

Heaps of repeats also in the list....eg Turning Japanese already mentioned (and it was by the Vapors I believe)

Shutupa you face was by an Italian/Aussie called Joe Dolce I believe

Great list here folks!

Maca 11-10-2003 01:48 PM

Criss Cross - was he the guy with 'Sailing....takes me away...'? had at least one other chart hit if its the same guy :)

dig420 11-10-2003 01:49 PM

yeah Gerry Rafferty also had 'Stuck in the Middle with You' which is a pretty kick ass song I must say....
