Good tune, but Aha weren't one-hit wonders either.

Mutt 11-10-2003 12:47 AM

let's not get picky here - maybe they had some minor hit after that song but they meet the criteria. VH1 put them in the Top 10 one hit wonders of all time.

Vox 11-10-2003 12:48 AM

Thomas Dolby - She Blinded Me With Science

TurboTrucker 11-10-2003 12:49 AM

Mutt 11-10-2003 12:54 AM

what was that movie about some Irish/Scottish bar band? Good movie by Alan Parker, can't remember the name, think that was a one hit wonder song too.

VH1 is out to lunch then. The song "The sun always shines on tV" by A-ha also made it huge. "Hunting high and low" also saw some decent air play as well, and there are a few other of their tunes that did as well. I'm hardly splitting hairs. One hit wonder means one hit.

Oh, you were talking to Brisk.... I agree with him, Men at work were not one hit wonders either.

What about Devo -- "Whip it"

Mutt 11-10-2003 01:14 AM

hmmmmmmm............looking at these lists if i was a music writer i'd come up with a better concept than this - cuz so much of these songs are complete crap. A list of the greatest one hit wonders, songs that were great and you expected more from the band but nothing ever came. and maybe interview them and have music critics analyze why they couldn't take the next step in their careers.

{fusion} 11-10-2003 01:16 AM

De-lite 'groove is in the heart' or betty boo 'doing the doo'
