A list of the greatest one hit wonders, songs that were great and you expected more from the band but nothing ever came. and maybe interview them and have music critics analyze why they couldn't take the next step in their careers.
Since the end of the 80s, the music industry only cares about putting out one hit and banking off of it. They don't promote or care about the rest of the tracks on an album, which are usually pure shit... but sometimes they are top 10 worthy.

They're just going for the fast buck and on to the next one hit wonder/image maker. Britney Spears really only had one hit... the rest were all forced upon us.

phogirl69 11-10-2003 01:23 AM

One hit wonders I really like

Robick Beck - The Very First Time (Coke commercial song)

Samantha Fox-Naught girls need love too

Martika- Toy Soldiers

Glenn Medeiros- Nothing's gonna change my love

Will To Power- Babey I love your way

More recent one hit wonders I like

I really miss old EURO-80's pop. Can anyone recommend more songs for me
to download? I like "happy 80's pop"
like Belinda Carlisle, Debbie Gibson, nothing too serious pls.

no that is actually true, Hasselhoff was big in Germany. and here is some David Hasselhoff trivia - he had a huge pay per view event, a David Hasselhoff live concert from Germany or something like that he was promoting like crazy - guess what night it was on - the night O.J. Simpson went on his drive in the white Bronco - about 3 people bought Hasselhoff's PPV show.

"More Than Words" was by the band Extreme - and they had many popular tunes. More Than Words was just overplayed. It was on the album "PornoGraffitti" which also spwawned the equally huge hit, "Hole Hearted." Other tunes off that disk that received acclaim, and much airplay at the time, were "Decadence Dance," "Get the Funk Out," the title track & "He Man Woman Hater."

Other songs that were quite popular by Extreme, include "Kid Ego" and "Mutha, Don't wanna go to School Today" off their first album. Also on that album was thier song, "Play With Me" which was a hit off the Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure soundtrack. It's the radical guitar jam that you hear during the scene with all the dead notables running amuck in the San Dimas Mall.

Thier third album was a concoction of the band's various influences that they made the way they wanted and against the advice of their record company. It was eagerly anticipated after the "EXTREME" success of "PornoGraffitti," was self-produced and was a massive flop. Gary Cherone (their singer) went on to do a brief stint as the lead singer of Van Halen. Nuno (guitar/vox/songwriter) released a solo album or two that can best be described as eclectic.

:thumbsup
