Hillcrest is only about 5-10 minutes from Pacific Beach. I wouldn't live downtown though, you can't get a garage for your car downtown

I'll put it this way... downtown you can get a 10x10 room with a bathroom for about $750/month. In Pacific Beach you can get a full-sized one bedroom (about 850-1000sq/ft) for under $995/month. You don't want to live downtown, trust me

I just moved into a decent size 2 bd rm condo on Sail Bay in Pacific Beach ... 1 step from the sand ... 2k per month.

Spectacular views, great location, bars, resturaunts, and all kinds of action just blocks away. Mission Beach is in walking distance right up Pacific Beach Drive

There are ALL KINDS of rentals down here! All the people that moved down for the summer have left, and there are a ton of "for rent" signs all over the place!

I LOVE IT DOWN HERE!!!

Hillcrest is very gay (they used to have a store called GAYMART)

I used to live in Mission Hills (very nice), right next to Hillcrest. About 4 min driving distance from downtown.

You'd think alot of that rental property would start getting snapped up as insurance companies start moving people from hotels - motels into places until their houses are done. I don't think I have ever seen a total for losses or really damaged homes for just SD tho.
