Is that supposed to be funny? I guess you have no family or friends or love in your life, because imagine being any one of those family members looking at a picture like that. Tasteless to say the least.

Most owned pics don't depict people being murdered

you stupid fucking idiot Bin Laden thinks he is doing good by ridding the world of western influence, It's just a matter of what side you're one that makes the cause good or out of "hatred". Thats the whole point of taking religion of the equation - because it makes people think they have god on their side while they kill people.

you've got to be a troll, I can't believe someone could possibly be so stupid.

If you read my posts after that, instead of picking and choosing, you will see I defined "good deeds" for humanity as something that benefits everyone and doesn't discriminate against anyone's race, religion, sex etc.

Of course you can't believe anyone could be that stupid, you're already in denial about yourself.

sacX 10-17-2003 07:49 PM

hypothetical situation:

Saudi Arabia is the world superpower. United States has huge oil resevoirs, and the most holy sites in Christianity.

Now imagine that Saudi Arabia props up a regime in the US, and has troops on US soil.

as a US citizen how would you feel about this?

That would depend on if the US is what it is today or if it's a country that harbors and aides terrorists.

you've already been schooled, but you are education resistant. You are creating strawmen. We are talking about a General in charge killing people doing it in the name of god, not mother theresa prancing around and handing out flowers.

ooo. what a witty comeback.. it's sad that even your insults are below even the lowest margin of acceptability. If you're going to be wrong, at least be intelligent while you do it. please.

This coming from yet another anti-American Australian. WTF is up with you people and your hatred (jealousy) of the US?

His remarks were made in church. He shouldn't have been in uniform, but shit happens. Worse things have happened! And just because he was careless enough to say his beliefs out loud, doesn't mean he is alone in his beliefs. If everyone spoke what's truly on their mind or showed their true agenda, I'm sure we'd have many more problems in the world.

If that's his belief, really, who fuckin cares. There's people that agree with him and don't agree with him. I don't agree with him, but I also don't think he should be scrutinized for his religious beliefs. Again, he is one general in the military making statements in church, he did not make an official statement on behalf of our entire country.

How are you going to set the standards of intelligence when you aren't qualified to do so?

It's a testament to your level of comprehension that you think I harbour ANY hatred or (especially) ANY jealousy towards America. Let alone being Anti-America.. I know it's confusing for you. I know it hurts to try and think "big thoughts" but thats just the way it is little lady.. I guess from your reaction I just can't expect any sort of understanding from this disparity in arguments. You and I both know that this is this statement of yours is the last refuge of someone truly owned.

As far as standards of intelligence I think you know deep down that you aren't keeping up in these threads with your wooly-headed touchy feely ideas.
Anyways I've had enough of beating on the tards. At least I can respect the conservative regulars.
adieu.

Because someone doesn't agree with you and has different view points, isn't grounds for thinking they are unintelligent. That's called ignorant and close minded. Just because others don't agree with me, I don't always assume they are stupid. On the countrary, I think a lot of people that disagree with me are in fact smart.

From the track record of Saddam, (including his sons who were brought up to witness violent acts), it is possible he is "evil".

bin Laden? Again, I don't know him. He has his reasons, whether valid or not. I doubt I will have the opportunity to ever chat with him to get any clue as to whether he is "evil" or not.

So, what's your point? Since you are also unlikely to meet these people, how can you say they are evil or not??

Tho I can name some evil people on this planet - they are actually very rare. I have only ever met two in my life and you know very well when you do meet them, - the room fills with an evil stench.

Somehow, I think you do not know what you are talking about - certainly no disrespect tho!

'Evil', like beauty is all in the eye of the beholder. Bush calls Osama evil, Osama calls Bush evil - both know they're right, but clearly someone has to be wrong.

I forget what I was reading - I think it was the diary of anne frank, but it raised an interesting point: People aren't all evil or all good, there are no blacks & whites definied, they're just different shades of grey - even the worse ppl have goodness in them, and conversely even the best ppl can do bad things sometimes!

Fletch XXX 10-17-2003 08:27 PM

you guys say 'evil' like it';s a bad thing.

when your priests fuck kids, who is evil?

Yes.. wasn't it Jesus who said to "turn the other cheek"? :)

Exactly. If it had of been in any kind of official capacity, then it would have been wrong. But you're right, as a private citezen, he should be allowed to express his views as freely as the rest of us. As long as he doesn't preach like this when he's in the uniform, i don't think it's a problem.

Gemini 10-17-2003 09:28 PM

Choda, it's been mentioned more than once in this thread, you must have missed it. When you are in the military you have NO "PRIVATE LIFE"... non, nein, none,. You BELONG to the Governent lock, stock and barrel. They tell you what to think and what to say. It doesn't matter if you are a buck private OR a 5 star. SOMEone is above you to tell you what you are thinking. ;-)

So no matter where this man said it or what he was wearing. He's seriously scewed (to a degree) He can quit or get relieved. Which is probably what he wants I think. Why ELSE would a lifer with that many years of having the rules pounded into him "slip up". lol

If B*sh doesn't do something about this then there will be h*ll to pay.

When you are on active duty you are never a private citizen...you are military 24/7...and are not entitled to all of the rights of a civilian. In uniform or out of uniform he belongs to the military and his rights are curtailed. One can have private views and private discussions but what a military person can say in public is subject to review under the UCMJ and you are subject to judicial punishment.
