of course there are cases that you have some successful in a business area friend and with few words he does everything for you and you are in position to understandand emulate what he is showing to you and at some point you do it alone.

I would say this belongs to "luck" case and probably it will only temp. benefit you. At some point you'll have to adapt since close to none business enviroment is 100% stable. It will up to you then to keep up and won't be that easy.

Friends in the same industry are good, but I'd never mix business with friendship. Keep your shit to yourself cause there's no such thing as a 50/50 partnership.

yep, just looked it up on google. another great Gekko line:

Quote:
The richest one percent of this country owns half our country's wealth, five trillion dollars. One third of that comes from hard work, two thirds comes from inheritance, interest on interest accumulating to widows and idiot sons and what I do, stock and real estate speculation. It's bullshit. You got ninety percent of the American public out there with little or no net worth. I create nothing. I own.

So right!

And your other comment in this thread is spot on too!

I helped a guy out big time - gave him a real income, he mildly fucked me over, now times are changing and he can't change with them cos I'm not there to hold his hand and show him the way like I was in the first place.

All he thought he had earned and learned that had given him his income I guess he now realizes was a lot more to do with what I told him than he gives credit for.

I don't have many/any friends in the adult biz, and although friends are nice, they are definitely NOT needed for success.

I think unless you treat this biz like a social meeting place, you are unlikely to find real friends. If a friend would leave you cos you aint making him any money, he aint no friend.

Time, patience and networking are all keys to the biz. If you have any sort of business skills and a limited amoutn of dedication, you'd better be able to make a living in this biz!

My little content store that i dont promote anywhere but on gfy and which isnt updated in a year makes me more money than 70% of the people on this board.

All these new guys think the only way to make money is by having a tgp.

There is sooooo much more out there.

To make the huge money you have to do many things and do them in a unique way.

You have to be an expert in marketing and understand Internet consumer psychology.

You have to understand online "closing" techniques.

You have to know how to buy the content that will sell and then retain subscribers.

You have to be a research hound and know everything happening in the industry and the market and how to effectively dance around and over all the non-stop obstacles and changes.

You have to know how to extract information from other webmasters without them realizing you're doing so.

You have to know how to discipline yourself since its easy to putz off as soon as you start making money. You have to be an efficient manager of your daily to do tasks and schedule your time productively.

You have to have good people skills and know how to network and makes friends with people that will help you on stuff you don't know how to do or don't have the skills to do.

You have to have courage and be a risk taker. Hesitation will kill you. You have to trust your gut instincts.

You have to know when to hold them and know when to fold them.

You have to be creative enough to figure out how to get an edge above your competitors in your niche and maintain that edge constantly. You drop the ball and they'll run right past you.

You have to see the trends and know how to exploit them.

There is lots more, but these are some of the most important things.
Nice post mate

a) I don't need the money that badly - my real job makes me about $80-90k a year

b) I got burnt out from making porn sites

and, most importantly...

c) I am happy with making $500 a month from doing jack-shit.

Or would it be that your pissed at me because i keep bringing up your drinking problem in public when you rant on like the fucking idiot that you are.
Besides you being the absolutely dumbest person to ever walk the earth i tend to dislike ppl signing up to our sites and publicly announcing the login and password information.

You have no leverage so just back the fuck off dipshit !

my words of wisdom

1. You have to always push forward. The second you stop and get lazy, competitors creep up.

2. You have to know your niche and be the best at it. You dont need to be all things to all people.

3. Don't do anything that loses money. Risk taking is fine, but it has to be a calculated risk. If your continually losing your shirt on business deals youll never get ahead.

4. Dont waste money. When the shit gets thick, youll feel like an idiot looking at your $5,000 rims.

5. Dont trust anyone
