Mother fucking migraine headaches

I had a migraine this morning:

1. I was completely blind in one eye and my other eye had vision only in the left side of the eye.

2. Was partially delerious for a bit, had conversations with people who didn't exist

3. Tried to call for my roommate when he let his dogs out, but I couldn't make any noise

4 hours of hell.

Lucky I only get these 1-2 times per year!

What's that?

Usually when I get a migraine I just hide in the dark and be delerious for a bit.

It's very much like what happens when you take like, 15 gravol. ( I've had migraines all my life ) However, when I was younger I was into drugs and have done everything but smack and acid. Having a migraine sends me into an incredibly delerious state.

Not sure of its street name.

But you can buy it for 250 a bottle.

Its prescribed to women with really bad migraines. Doctor only script stuff.

Jts a nasal spray that you inhale in each nostril similar to Dristan or whatever, but its liquid demerol and is great for migraines, hence it being prescribed for it.

But its also fun at parties.

you can actually water it down and a bottle goes quite a long way hence the stiff price tag and its hard to get.

Ive had a bottle before ;)

Yeah, I've been lucky. I get the "aura" migraines that give me like a half hour of warning before I actually get a full blown migraine. I've had close calls where I've BARELY made it home, or somewhere dark, before it fully hits.

When light is in my eyes during a migraine, I totally lose it. I start throwing up constantly and either hiding my eyes, or smashing the source of light. Migraines are fucked up!!

I only occasionally, (maybe once or twice a year) got them up until a year ago and they were never that severe. Then all hell broke loose migraines 4-5 days a week that would screw up my vision, hearing and so on. I couldn?t even sleep. I was spending $400 a month on medication (after my insurance paid their part) After 4-5 months of pure hell including every medical test known to man they went back to about 1-2 days out of any given month. I sure the hell hope they don?t come back. Prior to my incident I always viewed people that got migraines as suspect. Nothing changes that perception faster than repeatedly getting them like that for 4-5 months.

The Doctors couldn?t do much for me other than ordering more tests and increasing the dosage on my medication. It?s no fun being high on the pain medication when you can still feel the headache. It just made feel like I was in a perpetual stupor. I also know when I am about to get one. I lose hearing in one my ears.

Crap - I had a longer post, but the server screwed up.

I've had them for almost 30 years and I've tried everything. I have at least one a month that puts me in bed.

Imitrex works the best for me for the pain, but through the years I've had to increase the dosage. I take fioricet for the small ones. I've tried the other triptans, but so far, Imitrex is the only one that works.

Lidocaine maybe? I know they were talking about putting that into a nasal spray for migraines. The Imitrex comes in nasal spray, but it's just one shot and doesn't seen like it would be very fun at parties.

Migraines are the worst pain I've ever had.

Ever think it's your sinuses? I thought I had migraines for a long time, but it was actually chronic sinus infections. I'm allergic to sulfur and penicillin... not much I can take, but when I get one, my eyes hurt, head hurts all the way to the back of my neck, sides etc. All the pressure also makes me very tired. Staring at my monitor is grueling. Only thing that really helps is darkness, sucking on ice cubes and anything cold on my head.

A sinus headache is nothing compared to a migraine, I get them about 3-4 times a year, excruciating pain, kind of feels like your brain cracking open your skull, extreme sensitivity to light, smell and taste, Just sipping on some water can make it worse.
What helps a little for me is taking codeine and then strapping tight a belt around my head, sounds dumb, but helps alleviate that feeling of my head splitting open.

Next one I get, I'm going to be trying some Oxycontin, see how that works out.

Weird, I've rarely got the head-splitting open thing. Nobody else seems to get the insane delerium that I get. I talk to people who aren't there, I don't know where I am, and once I absolutely swore up and down after that a full day had passed when it didn't. I actually had to dig through the garbage / recycling to look at the newspaper dates to make sure.

Actually sinus headaches are just as bad as migraine..Add a jaw , neck and ligament damage like I have and they NEVER go away....

You think so huh? You have obviously NEVER experienced a sinus infection like I have had! On top of the excruciating pain, having your nose bleed and can't even open your eyes... I wished I was dead at times.

My mom get them really bad, I hope I never do.

Twice I've had the vision thing where it looks like a flash just went off but I've never gotten the headache or sickness.

I drank a bunch of beer when my vision started going funky, maybe that helped ?
