the sad thing is mentally I don't think "syndicate" is that old - I can remember one of my mates first showing me it and it only seems like a few years ago.. not like 8 or whatever - fuck. distinct from the halycon gaming days of my 8bit youth.

heh, I look on thoose as Amiga games =). Amiga500 was kicking butt with its elite GFX chips while PCs had slowass EGA ;]. Actually, first started playing Pirates on my C64, damn that game was fun.

The C64 classics:
H.E.R.O
Bruce Lee
Pirates
Summer Games
Winter Games
Spy vs Spy
Commando
.. etc etc, too many to list I guess.

The Amiga classics:
Shadow of the beast (1,2,3)
Lemmings (oh my god multi-player was fun)
Monkey Island (damn that game had humor)
Turrican II (kickass music by Chris Huelsbeck)
Sim City
Another World (elite atmosphere)
Cruise for a corpse
Operation Stealth
..

My first PC game I bought was "Eye of the beholder II" .. had a 386 20mhz or something, and the gfx sucked, damn I was disapointed. The first one that was so cool on the Amiga. First kickass PC game I remember was DOOM.

Eye of the Beholder on the Amiga kicked serious butt, so did Gloom 3d and bunch of other games I'd forgotten until this post.
