Card Service Int'l not paying?

Anyone else who processes with Card Service having a problem with deposits over the past few days?

I was on the phone with them for 4 hours today and I was told that they switched banks and are having "technical" issues funding some accounts (namely adult accounts that have something to do with the web) and that they have no ETA for a fix. I usually get daily deposits and I've gotten nothing this week.

talk to pat fitzgereld over there. she is a senior vp risk analyst over there. if she is still there, she should be able to assist you more then a rep.

though dont be surprised if they shut your account down.....sorry to say it but they are helpful to your face (over the phone) all the while stabbing you in the back.

Well I know that I'm not the only one having the problem, I'm just trying to figure out if they're giving the same story to everyone.

I have low charge backs and have been with them for over 3 yrs., I can't imagine that they'd just spontaneously close my account without even telling me.

The fact that I know it's happening to other people is a little bit reassuring.

Would you happen to know her extension?

You know, I'm not sure. I could have sworn that at one point the guy said they switched to First Interstate bank, but that's been gone a long time so it might be first data that he said.

What's that?

if i remember correctly, fd is a central processing center and when they change information of any type, then lots of merchants can be affected. ask pat when you call her.

Ok, thanks a lot. Ignore my ICQ lol

I just tried to call Pat and she's not there so I'll try again tomorrow. I know they told me that they just discovered the problem today but I talked to someone who has been waiting for a wire transfer since the 12th so they lied right to my face.

When you call them and tell them that you are an adult biz they will cut off your merchant account very quickly. You were warned.

Well telling them that I'm an adult biz wouldn't be news to them. I've been using them for three years with very few problems and I'm registered as an adult account and always have been. I've paid my high risk fees every year.

As for the time on the phone, a LOT of it I was on hold while they "tried to figure out" what was going on. The two times I did disconnect and was promised a call back, I didn't get one and I had to call back in.

Ok well who would you guys recommend? A processing company where the fees aren't so high that I'd have to restructure my entire company?

First Data owns Card Services and does process for high risk, just not for Sobe apparently.

first data may be getting ready to clean house.

reducing exposure to risk seems to be on the plates of similar companies... ie intercept.

First Data's risk exposure is negligible, heck they also own Western Union, Telecheck and NYCE

Lily,

if it's happ. to others you know with cardservice, it's probably not your account per say.

Global Payment and a few others have been late for some companies this past week. I think it's some system problems or something, doesn't make sense though.

We had CS in 1995-1996, they were ok. Ran several mill. through them, back then didn't really have any fraud controls so there risk dept. gotta sorta mad sending us 20-30 cb's per day

Keep in mind that netbilling does not provide merchant accounts. They provide the 'middleman' services commonly associated with traditional 3rd party processors, though at a far lower rate.

Netbilling actively recommends CardServices for merchant account acquisition.

I hope a Netbilling rep will address this.

KK please correct any mistakes

Dtk,

Netbilling is just a gateway that sends off your transactions for approval, etc. But they also handle customer service issues, fraud detection, etc.

They don't issue you your merchant accounts, they are probably an ISO, who deals with different banks who approve you the merchant for the account.

If I was running paysites and not stores, I would probably use someone like netbilling, jettis, etc for fraud controls, etc.

I'd spoken with Netbilling before and from what I remember, their only options are Cardservice and some type of offshore merchant account. Can anyone confirm that? I'll give them a call today I guess.

I don't have problems with fraud and I do my own customer service so I'd rather not pay extra and still have a Cardservice merchant account.

I was going to switch to another company but they didn't have any gateways that they recommend so I got stuck at that point.

Right before you get TMF'd, before they tell you you've lost your merchant account, they'll stop paying you for about two weeks so they can keep your money in reserve and hold it for a year. Good luck, they're a bunch of motherfuckers.

They are a pain to deal with even outside the adult industry. I used to work for a Bridal Gown Designer and they would hold our payments FOREVER!

Well they've told tons of people about their technical issues with switching banks and I know other people this is happening to, so I'm holding out hope that that's not the case. I don't know of any reason that they'd terminate my account.

sperbonzo, I don't think I got your ICQ.

1. CardService is wholly owned by FirstData.

2. CSI will write adult accounts all day long.

3. You will not be shut off by CSI if you call up and say you are an adult company. Unless however, you've never registered your Co w/ the associations, and have been processing under the radar.

4. Customer service at corporate, could sometimes be a pain in the ass. But, if you set up an account through a CSI agent who understands the adult industry, you should always be able to go back to them w/ any issues.

5. CSI has been setting up merchant accounts for those who use NetBilling as their gateway for a while now.

6. Getting a merchant account for an adult site is not difficult. Just like anything, you need to speak/work with with the right people.

I used to work for them, I didn't own the company, and I was left unemployed and being owed 4 months worth of commisions that they had promised to pay me and then couldn't.

I am now working for a new company, and I'm not asking anybody to give me their money.....I help you get a direct relationship with the bank, your own merchant account....all business is between you and the bank. If you need gateway or fraudscrubbing technology, we can help you with that too.

we used to use card service, then found out we were getting ripped off and how much they suck so we switched. we had a problem once with first data that froze our account for a bit.

we did a ton of monthly volume with them so i got to speak to someone decent. try david atmore ext. 4529, he's their actual VP i believe.

Who did you switch to?

Their story now is that it only happened to me and one other account and that they'll wire me the balance by tomorrow at 10am. Any batches after the 19th were not affected and I should get those on regular schedule.

I'm still going to switch as soon as I find someone comparable.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay... I was in the hospital as we had a new baby boy. We have recevied no other complaints from any of our Cardservice merchants. Please call me Monday of you need assistance with this or email me tomorrow at [email protected].

888-357-8166

We do have another domestic bank besides CSI but we setup many merchants at CSI for several years now with no problems as long as you keep the content clean and the chargebacks down.
Netbilling does write mainstream merchant accounts in house but refer the adult accounts out for the merchant ID and we set them up in our system. Netbilling also offers a very inexpensive check processing option as well.

Thank you, Mitch Farber
