Host with virusservice?

Fuck i hate these viruses..
I spend too much time deleting them

Are there hosts or services who can autodelete all known viruses so i donīt have to do that in my computer

Some kind of serverside spamfilter would be cool also

Currently i wash viruses and spam with norton and mailwasher..
Better solutions?

For those of us, who have their own (mail)server, it is a good idea to run a virus scanner on the mailserver and remove the viruse-email at that stage already. That way you never get to see those viruses anymore (and don't even have to download them).

What you need depends very much on which OS and mail program is used on the server. My server runs Linux and Qmail, and I am a happy user of McAfee's Linux version of their scanner, and a program called Qmail-scanner.

It takes a little time to set things up, but it was time (very) well spent!

I think our hosts should offer "easy to setup" virus/spam- block services to us

I would gladly pay something extra for such service...

Most hosts do run some kind of virus/spam scanner on their email. The problem is that it can take a few days for the AV software company to update their virus definitions to include brand new worms and their variants.

Jonnax,

I agree. And actually my ISP does offer exactly that. It's a Dutch ISP, though (XS4all.nl), so I guess that information is of no use to 99% of the visitors here

I find its not the viruses so much as the hackers that piss me off, I have been hacked like hell in the last few months. I kinda think my IP addy is on some fucking hackers site somewhere.

I got so mad I just deleted all and everything that was time stamped in the system32 folder that was not owned by MS or any other recognisable software company.

Re-installed the firewall ramped it up to maximum and "walla" Ive not had any trouble for 4 weeks and the firewall keeps kicking thier boney asses back to where they came from...

Why it takes days to update?
I thought all paid Antivirus services update daily or when ever they need to update..

Jonnax:

All our customers get Anti-Virus protection and SpamAssassin included with their plan or server. Most emails containing malicious attachments *.scr, *.pif, *.exe will be stopped at the server level and deleted from the mail que automatically. The following message will then be sent to the sender in the event the mail was legitimate:

This message has been rejected because it has a potentially executable attachment "thank_you.pif"
This form of attachment has been used by recent viruses or other malware. If you meant to send this file then please
package it up as a zip file and resend it.

With our SPAM Assassin you can route all SPAM to your trash bin automatically and never see it again.

How much Space and Bandwidth would you like?
