picture size
What size should be the pictures in members area? i made them around 80-110 kB and i am afraid they are too big.
Any ideas? |

If they are about 1024*800 the filesize is sensible

For example: one is simple - 800*500 are 80kB. But another (with a complex background - forest) is 720*500 and 120 kB.
I want them to be perfect so i remove every spot on the skin etc. When i compressed them many spots appeared - the pictures got much worse. I don't care abouth bandwidth - i just don't want my customers to wait too long for downloading. |

i think that anything from 800x600 to 1280x1024 less than 150kb is alright...

Have scripts automatially compress/resize based on user's preferences.
