Has anyone ever had Jury Duty ??
On Monday, I have to drive 2 hours to do some jury duty. I never had to do it before. It says that i'm a petit juror in my paperwork, that I'll be on call for the month, but they want me there on Monday, perhaps for screening.
If anyone on this board is gonna be having a jury trial in Marquette, Michigan in the next 30 days, let me know, I might be able to get you off the hook |

On call for a month?
I think in some states it's one day only unless you get picked. |

all you gotta do is check that box on the form that asks for an exemption... explain that you're a sole proprietor and that a lengthy trial would cause you financial hardship.
if you have a day job, ask your boss for a letter stating that you are not reimbursed for jury duty... and then check the box and explain financial hardship. Unless they're totally strapped for jurors, they'll exempt you.
