It's not what resolution I'm on, it's what resolution is the standard.

That standard happens to be 800x600. With IE, which holds over 90% of the market (read your stats), that leaves 490 pixels above the "fold" (viewable before you have to scroll down). You also have 795 pixels width wise, so that logo is going to have to be placed centered with 22.5 pixels on either side (waste of space).

I can?t believe that you even asked that question?

Customers don't give a fuck about a logo, they want what they are paying for. They don?t want long image load times, unless it's naked, and they don't want to have to look too hard for what they want. Every time your customer has to move his mouse you loose a %.

Go take some GUI classes, this is website design 101 shit.

I think the design is nice, it's just not practical. If you don't like constructed criticism don't ask for an opinion.

LOL, Sassyass before you run your mouth like that (which I have nothing against in general) you should at least be sure you're not full of shit.

Today, the most used resolution is 1024x768. 90% are on 800x600? That's so 1998

I do agree with you though, that header is too fucking big. It looks very nice but I'd go easier on the height, maybe lose 25% or so

I would love to think that the standard is 1024x768, it would make building websites much easier, but it is still 800x600.

and any of your large e-commerce sites are built for 8x6
Dell ships their computers at 8x6 resolution

If you look at the growth patterns of people who are browsing the web you will find that the fastest growing age group is 55+. These people are surfing the web, looking for love in senior chat rooms and yes.... surfing your porn sites. The bulk of these people will buy their computer from dell, gateway, or Wal-Mart, set it up and never change the factory standards. This also goes for the basic corporate dingo that is logging in to his email from home, connecting to his Citrix client to log on to his network, and yes.... surfing your porn sites. The IT depts., are setting their 15" monitors to 8x6.
The gaming industry has pushed the resolutions up, but you would be surprised on how little that market crosses over to your paying customers. The computer gaming market I think (and now I am trying to remember I might be off a bit) is pushed at 12 ? 25 year olds. This market would have set their resolution above 8x6 but, the 17+ games are being pushed for consoles not as hard for PC, so you can count on a large% of +18 gamers to have a PS2 or and Xbox, not a gaming PC. Also, how many 18-25 year olds do you have paying to surf your site?
