It's not what resolution I'm on, it's what resolution is the standard.
That standard happens to be 800x600. With IE, which holds over 90% of the market (read your stats), that leaves 490 pixels above the "fold" (viewable before you have to scroll down). You also have 795 pixels width wise, so that logo is going to have to be placed centered with 22.5 pixels on either side (waste of space).

Customers don't give a fuck about a logo, they want what they are paying for. They don?t want long image load times, unless it's naked, and they don't want to have to look too hard for what they want. Every time your customer has to move his mouse you loose a %.
Go take some GUI classes, this is website design 101 shit.
