There are some dogs whose dander count is very low...and these are the breeds recommended by the American Kennel Association....

Poodle
Shih-tzu
Schnauzer

And, maybe dachshound...although I'm not sure about that one...

You need a dog who doesn't shed much....and has a low dander count....

Unfortunately...it's not until you live with the dog...that you'll find out whether you can tolerate him/her.

I'm not alergic, just to the mess. Short haired dogs are great - less fur all over the place. No offence to fluffy critters! my Doberman is 13 years old and on his last legs, gonna get another one when he goes. dogs rule!

In addition, Pugs are VERY high maintenance dogs in both money and time, so if you're not big on spending money on pets, don't get one.

There are hundreds of Pug Rescue groups in the US. I work with the one here in GA and it's amazing how many owners turn them after buying one and then realizing the upkeep.

But IMHO, they are the GREATEST dogs!!!
