How do you handle fake urgency in sales?
How do you deal with obvious scarcity or “act now” tactics?
Sometimes it’s so obvious it’s almost cute. You can see the countdown script playing in real time. I usually say: “Good urgency angle. I get it, just not my trigger.” That makes it clear pressure won’t speed up my decision. And if it bruises their ego a little, well... I did not get the memo which said it was my problem ![]() Curious how you handle it : do you ignore it, call it out, or play along? |

I usually soil myself, as I find it to be relaxing and it helps me to destress and relax...

One word or two word responses are the most powerful. “Cool story” is a good one but will probably make them mad. Alrighty then” also works. 10 years ago the best response to just about everything was “gay” but that can get you canceled nowadays. Another one is simply “OK” or if you want to mock them a little bit change it to “Mkay”. I learned in sales training to just stop talking and force the other person to talk in order to close the deal after you ask for the sale. Works in the other direction as well. Silence is power.

Truly depends on how it is written. If it's up front and worthwhile I don't mind something like Until Friday Buy One Get Second Free. Thats all I need to know - or Long Weekend 30 percent off. Anything else is fluff and I could care less.

I think before I purchase, i don't wish to feel rushed. with a hard press sell it's "thank you for your time and I'll think it over" no games. not playing that stuff so not about to create one of my own games. inherently unfun. if it has value and I'm considering it, lock me in to that price. online in the past year that's happened for me twice and that was significant in terms of buying what I needed from them instead of another. they offered me the hard sell discount, I asked for time, they granted it, and when I was ready I purchased from them no reason for anyone involved to get all riled up. my terms are mine. one's urgency call either meshes or does not. no need for emotions in transactions themselves. either way world keeps on turning
