Why so many sponsors are not offering crypto payouts?

I was wondering why so many sponsors are completely ignoring cryptocurrencies as a way of payment.

AWE, Chaturbate, CamBuilder...they are doing it, but what about Pussy Cach, Webcam Wiz, Flirt4Free,Xlove cash

Because it can be a nightmare to do it at scale. Banks don't want to deal with companies sending large volumes to crypto exchanges.

Serious affiliates who send volume generally accept wire transfers.

^^^ This ^^^

It is also a nightmare for accounting, and for taxes. And you can bet that alot of affiliates get pissed off when the value of a coin drops from the time they earn it, to the time they are paid. Imagine the service provider when the value increases between the time you earned it and the time they have to pay you out too. And besides everything else, comapnies that offer payouts in crypto just look shady AF.

Do this: Just accept your payments in USD, invest it in whatever crypto you want, and take your own chances. It's alot easier that way.

Getting upfront payment is a better approach, but many sponsors are not willing to do so. Picking legit sponsors that care about their image works too but cuts out a lot of the options. In the end it is a balancing act between risk and earnings. Bad actors will always be able to raise some bullshit dispute to justify not paying.

Taxes, fraud and KYC regulations.

I would never do it as I don't want to risk having that discussion with the CRA in Canada:

"I sent 1000$, there, 2000$ there and 5000$ there."

"Who are they really? Give us full names and address."

"I don't know."

Saying crypto looks shady in 2025 is certainly a choice. The government is investing in crypto, it's been around forever and getting money on a card named Paxum is what looks shady AF.

Using crypto instead of another form of payment doesn't stop you from knowing who the affiliate is.

Crypto is sent to an address and not a name. It can't be 100% sure.

What if a company gives you an address that belongs to someone else?

I've also had chargebacks from 2 years back from some affiliates that do card-banging. With crypto... There would be no recourse once the money is sent.

I travel for shoots... With gear... I don't really feel like having to explain to customs where 10s of crypto transactions go as well as all the other things they already know.

If they don't, they should.

@femdom, are you referring to getting paid in unpopular cryptocurrencies?

All the affiliate programs listed in my signature offer Bitcoin payouts.

I checked some paysites, and some of them do not pay in crypto, but I think they should.

You can start your own crypto for about $100 and 20 minutes and assign addresses however you want. You would also make a single transaction to buy the crypto needed to let them exchange it, not send 100 or 10000 individual transactions you have to report.
