You know nothing about cars. It's a Neon. Big whoop. A 350Z would eat you alive, don't lie spam bag.
Business can't be that good if all you can afford is a fucking Neon! Yay! A girl's car.....:1orglaugh Wheee!!!!

"For all that, performance is the proof of the pudding in cars such as this, and the Z delivers. The top-of-the-line Track model sprints to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds"

Wow, that extra .2 seconds is really impressive! :1orglaugh

SoBeGirl Video 05-28-2003 08:36 PM

I can prove it because I drove the cobra just before I bought this none. The cobra is fast, very fast. I had a turbo porsche and I can tell you that the cobra accelerates just as fast as that 400 plus hp porsche. The cobra is def doing 0 to 60 in less than 5 seconds. And for just 35 grand nothing can touch it.

"Another test of the 95mm C&L System on a 2003 Cobra using a Mustang Dyno. The before test shows the vehicle with only a Borla cat back exhaust installed on an otherwise stock vehicle. The baseline test with no modifications measured in at 316 rear wheel horsepower."

I suppose their dyno is useless too?

greentea 05-28-2003 08:42 PM

you should be embarrassed, its a neon!

trade that in and get a real car dood.

neons are bitch cars

Dj Furious 05-28-2003 08:45 PM

my friends and i used to street race lots... probably about 5 cars have wiped out racing us

street racing is way to risky in vancouver so i almost never do it anymore..

but when i pull up next to some fag punk in a riced out honda or 5 liter mustang and i see a cop somewhere at the lights, ill rev my engine and get him to race me, light goes green, he takes off, i cruise slow... then the blue and red lights go on..

Let's see, ah last night I tore up a 98 transam, Mitsu Eclipse GT, Ford Mustang, Honda 2000 S and one old GTO. Dodge or not, my little SRT 4 is pissin on a lot of cars much bigger than it :-)

Good for 0-60 in about 5 seconds flat (thats only an estimate, I've never taken the time to do do any real testing), haven't dragged it yet, so I dont know its quarter mile time, 160 MPH topspeed... No, dont ask where i tested its speed... cause your not going to get a strait answer.

To be honest, I only read the first few posts, but I figure its a good idea to boast about my car :winkwink:

and.. get this: No decals, bodykits, no 500 lb sound system, no rice. Its all about performace, baby.

Oh let me start the fun.

What's the trims on that t3/t4? Turbonetics or Garrett? What exactly is "bored," or do you mean ported? Weird how a full Garrett style turbo is never bored, ala 5-bolt Ford Exhaust housings.

Also, how are you bolting that turbo up? I wasn't under the impression Greddy made a turbo header for Honda's. It'd be really foolish to put down a N/A parts list for a FI'd car. ;)

What type of engine management is it running? How much boost was required to make 357whp? What octane gas was used? Was your AFR monitored?

Now, just so I don't ruin this thread completely, the Neon SRT-4 is great. I've been modifying 4cyl turbo cars for about 5-6 years now, so I know all too well about the addiction and mod-ability of these cars.

They've been running from 13.8-14.2 bone stock, right around 102mph. That's enough to hang or beat a stock C5 vette, with a less than fluent driver.

With a few mods, expect trap speeds around 105mph, which will be loads of fun. The car runs out of injector at that point, and it would greatly benefit from more fuel anyhow.

Mopar is releasing staged performance kits here soon that will allow up to 300hp (220hp was claimed stock, but cars are dyno'ing AT LEAST that high), so the 300hp will likely be low 300whp level, and well over 112mph traps. These come with warranties and will be amongst the most fun you can have in a 4door.

The money they saved they put into performance parts. And besides, I have a 7 year 70 thousand mile warrenty...

Really, I thought it was funny too. A neon, what the fuck, I am not driving a neon. For gods sake, I had a turbo Porsche just 2 years ago and love that too. But this little dodge is just so much fun, so American (and I feel good about that) and is so cheap. I could not resist myself.

you're talking here like a lot of these options are special to this model of neon. they're not. the dodge "engineers" didn't remove all that crap from the car. i worked at a dodge dealer, and i've had friends that have owned them. basic neons are very screwy, the 4 door models do NOT have power rear windows... this has been part of the car since the beginning. they didn't cut costs here. look at a lot of mainline cars today, they don't have a key hole in the passenger door. it's common practice now. the basic neon does not have cruise control. if you look at a basic neon, i really doubt you'll find much that they "cut out" for cost concerns on this model. so, basically your cost concerns are null. it's a base model neon, with a body kit and a turbo. so, they really didn't "save money and put it into performance parts".

how american do you think that car is really? i'd venture that motor is made by mitsubishi motors. dodge & mits have been making things for each other for a long time, i can remember back to the dodge raider.

not bad times though for a little car like that. i've seen better, cheaper. friend of mine put 500hp nitrous on a stock 2dr neon. ran about 5 runs, and blew. fast though :)

not bad times, but i wouldn't go flaunting around all the gearheads and tuners how much better it is. find a z28 with a $300 chip and you're eating dust :thumbsup

If you want 400 hp in a car other than the ford you have to spend at least 50 grand. It puts that kind of performance in the reach of a lot of folks that would other wise only dream about it. Just like the little noen Srt :-)

There's a local kid that has a Neon and he put a big wing on the back, that racing stripe that you see on the Vipers, and a really loud stainless steel performance exhaust.

Everyone laughs at him.

90% of the losers in this state drive around with similar cars. They look stupid as fuck and sound like a fart. Yet somehow they think they're cool. Losers.

Yup, all you big dawgs in here with your monster sports cars, this little hot rod will rip up most of them. I laugh at mustangs and pee on boxters. I think one poor guy in his new 350Z almost blew up his motor trying to keep up with me in my 20 thousand dollars. American Tuner. What agreat buy this little racer is...

Hope it has a spare head gasket. The motors that are used in the, are junk to put it lightly.

I also hope it comes with spare unibody parts. You'll find lots of lovely structural imperfections and failures with the body by the time you are nearing the end of a lease. My dad works for the company that makes the paneling for the neons and chevy caveliers and ford escorts. It's all junk. Low grade.

Bottom line is, it doesn't matter how fast it is, a piece of junk can only go so fast for so long before you get killed due to engine or structural failure.
