My wife found a Saleen convertable that she wants to buy, but I'm not sure ifs its real or just a clone.
Anyone know how to verify?

If it's Saleen Mustang like a S281, there is a Saleen serial number plate that has the model year and the car number on it. For example the plate for the 51st built in 1998 would be #98- 051. This ID is separate from the regular VIN and is found on the dash and on the firewall.
You also might ask the owner if they have the original window sticker.

One of the guys at work bought one about two years ago and it lived in the shop. It was a piece os shit. He sold it and went back to a super charged Mustang GT.
