Saleen experts?
 

My wife found a Saleen convertable that she wants to buy, but I'm not sure ifs its real or just a clone.

Anyone know how to verify?

Call your local Ford dealer that sells Saleen. They be able to tell you with the VIN.

Race the saleen against a small-block Chevy. If the saleen loses, then its real. :thumbsup

MikeAI has a Shelby Series 1. Don't think he has a Saleen.

Saleen VIN numbers can be verified by calling Saleen at 1-800-888-8945

If it's Saleen Mustang like a S281, there is a Saleen serial number plate that has the model year and the car number on it. For example the plate for the 51st built in 1998 would be #98- 051. This ID is separate from the regular VIN and is found on the dash and on the firewall.

You also might ask the owner if they have the original window sticker.
