I had one of those fuckers in my house in Grand Cayman. We called them banana jumping spiders. I swear they can jump 10 feet straight at your head. Anyways I smashed one on the wall and about 100 little spiders came out of it. It was a female carring a egg sac. Little bastards were in my house for months. Once you get used to them they are ok.

You know if you want to take out a bug just whack it. Bug sprays are sadistic. I hate killing bugs, even spiders. Just sccop them up and dump them outside. They serve a purpose in the cycle of things and usually aren't bothering anyone.

I totally agree. The only reason I whacked that one is because the woman was having a fit. She wouldn't do my laundry unless I killed it.

I can totally deal with snakes and scorpions and stuff like that... I've had scorpions, snakes, etc as pets before... I got no problem with them...

but bugs like roaches, centipedes, and spiders and shit.... nope. That's where the fucking line is. If I hadn't found the Raid, I would've sealed off the bathroom and bricked up the fucking door for good.

I am with you on this one too -- I was in St Maarten a couple months ago and they have poisonous ones down there. Not a pleasant thought at all.

When we were still living in Hell, there was a nest of black widow spiders under the house...a nest of brown recluse spiders near the air conditioning unit...and, fire ants everywhere you looked...and snakes....and other nasty biting things....

Now...i can walk on the grass barefoot...my dogs don't have ticks which invariably find their way into my hair....and no snakes this side of the mountains...life is good..

By the way, Amp..that is one UG-LEE spider....

But..how exactly does one cut a piss short?

well, the exterminator just explained to me that cane spiders are 'Contact Only'.... meaning, if they see one when they're here, they can blast it.... but residual treatments won't stop them....

this is NOT what I wanted to hear.

Not where I live... we have around 40 different types and none of them are deadly to the average healthy adult who is not allergic to them.

The worst of the lot is the bark scorpion, but the same statement applies.

Other places have way more vicious and venomous species...

my son got stung a couple years ago and was fine about 5 minutes later... my nanny got stung last year, and being from Mexico, she thought it was the mark of the devil coming after her...

go figure.

When I was living in Tucson we went down to the pool at night (townhouse complex) in bare feet. We came back, and found out that it was the one night in the previous five years that the male tarantulas decided to come down from the mountains to find mates. They were EVERYWHERE and it was fricken dark! The next day we found a baby (about 3" long) inside the house, even though we hadn't left any doors open. There was one crawling up the patio wall that was about 6" across, but it just left after a while. We kept the baby in a little terrarium and fed it crickets, but it only lived for a few months before it died.

The people in the area said they had never seen it before. It was like a big spider every few feet on black pavement, like that movie Kingdom of the Spiders. We didn't kill any, though.

the python = cool (I used to have snakes myself)

spiders & roaches = not cool.

in the past, any spider would have gotten the bottom side of a boot. But now, I'm barefoot 24/7 so they get the working end of a Raid can instead.
