I would assume that would depend on the quality of battery and amount of usage...
mmmm, its been awhile since I used my cordless.... a month or two I think...

Yeah, I noticed the logitech coordless optical is a battery hog. Every month if you have it on more than 10 hours a day.
Go with rechargables. |

Do yourself a favour and buy rechargeables.
I used to have a normal wireless mouse (non optical) and it would last for months on regular batteries. Now that I switched to wireless optical they are dead within 2 weeks. I just bought an extra set of rechargeable batteries and I use the battery recharger that came with my digital camera. |

If you'd quit buying batteries at the $1 shop they might last a little while.
Or... you could just get the Logitech MX700 and then you wouldn't have this problem. |

My logitech optical goes through batteries every 2 weeks. Luckily I bougt some NI-mh rechargables. Always keep one set charged. Ordinary alkaline batteries last 4 days tops. My wireless keybord on the other hand only needs new batteries every year. I have a set of batteries in this one now for the past 5 months and they were DEAD when I put them in. They couldn't even power a remote. Yet I can get a 30 foot range out of these now

the intellimouse is mad comfy, and as stated before it knows when you're not using it so it shuts down to conserve battery life... logitech does not.

I have not yet needed new batteries in a Microsoft optical combo. Neither the rodent nor the keyboard. It's been a couple of weeks plus a day or two. I wanted bluetooth but they do not have Mac support yet.

I had to change batteries every weekend and got tired of supporting Duracell.
I now use the Logitech rechargeable and it's awesome, never have to change batteries, and I've forgotten to recharge it now for 4 days and it's still going strong, and it's in use up to 14 hours a day
