Cordless mouse batteries died

This mouse burns up batteries in like a month!! My last mouse kept them good for a few months min...

How long is a cordless supposed to go before killing the batteries?

Juicy D. Links 05-07-2003 12:49 PM

My logitech does the same, it eats the fucking batteries

Kanoealoha 05-07-2003 12:49 PM

I would assume that would depend on the quality of battery and amount of usage...

mmmm, its been awhile since I used my cordless....

a month or two I think...

Yeah, I noticed the logitech coordless optical is a battery hog. Every month if you have it on more than 10 hours a day.

Go with rechargables.

detoxed 05-07-2003 12:53 PM

Mine has been replaced twice, had it almost a year.

scorpy 05-07-2003 12:53 PM

After a while, i had to go back to my old cord one

Yep mine's a Logitech optical...great mouse but I can't seem to buy enough batteries for it...

I run Duracell's and use the mouse about 9 hours a day..

That rechargable looks tight, might have to get me one of those

Juicy D. Links 05-07-2003 01:08 PM

someone got a link to a good rechargeable one? I am blowing too much per month on batteries when i could be using the batteries for my ball scrubber

I have 3 cordless mice here and 2 cordless keyboards. We buy batteries in bulk from Home Depot. These things are nuts.....

evildick 05-07-2003 01:14 PM

Do yourself a favour and buy rechargeables.

I used to have a normal wireless mouse (non optical) and it would last for months on regular batteries.

Now that I switched to wireless optical they are dead within 2 weeks.

I just bought an extra set of rechargeable batteries and I use the battery recharger that came with my digital camera.

my wireless optical trackball from logitech eats up way too much power.. I change them about every 10 days.. the mouse just gets sloppy after a week or so.. :glugglug

try the microsoft intellimouse cordless... i love it. depending on the battery type you get it can go anywhere from 10 days (shitty battery) to a month (duracells). whats great about it is it knows when you are not using it so it shuts itself down.

the mx700 by logitech is the most useless piece of crap i ever invested in. i got rid of it within two days.

Lane 05-07-2003 01:40 PM

go with mx500

WTF you tell me now i just ordered 2 , why was it bad?

If you'd quit buying batteries at the $1 shop they might last a little while.

Or... you could just get the Logitech MX700 and then you wouldn't have this problem.

iwantchixx 05-07-2003 02:37 PM

My logitech optical goes through batteries every 2 weeks. Luckily I bougt some NI-mh rechargables. Always keep one set charged. Ordinary alkaline batteries last 4 days tops. My wireless keybord on the other hand only needs new batteries every year. I have a set of batteries in this one now for the past 5 months and they were DEAD when I put them in. They couldn't even power a remote. Yet I can get a 30 foot range out of these now :)

Kiowas72 05-07-2003 02:38 PM

i just go with my lame corded trackball. no battery issues though

MattO 05-07-2003 02:45 PM

Just get an adapter for it and plug it into the wall. Haw.

EATS regular batteries and it's a waste of time with rechargables i dont even get a good 6 hours of time on it before i have to put it back on the charger. then... i have no mouse so u can see my fustration.

the intellimouse is mad comfy, and as stated before it knows when you're not using it so it shuts down to conserve battery life... logitech does not.

No problems sofar, but I am thinking of geting a new mouse. This one seems to have some problems when I have to cut out pixels etc. It just don't seem to be to correct some times.

Probono 05-07-2003 03:02 PM

I have not yet needed new batteries in a Microsoft optical combo. Neither the rodent nor the keyboard. It's been a couple of weeks plus a day or two. I wanted bluetooth but they do not have Mac support yet.

HairToStay 05-07-2003 03:13 PM

I had to change batteries every weekend and got tired of supporting Duracell.

I now use the Logitech rechargeable and it's awesome, never have to change batteries, and I've forgotten to recharge it now for 4 days and it's still going strong, and it's in use up to 14 hours a day :)
